The food here is gorgeous. Everything done very nicely. I had a beef appetizer which was delicious. Like a steak tartare with lovely dressing. My wife had chicken and lobster caesar salad which she loved. We both had curry and parsnip soup. Very tasty. The table bread was delicious. I had sirloin steak for main. Delicious. My wife had chicken.... More

Deliciously perfect. Cant praise this place enough. A hidden gem. Took a while to get our seats in the restaurant, ( 3 priests sailed in before us so fair enough I suppose) but when we did get in our starters arrived straight away. My main was fab, hubbys pork belly had no crackling but he devoured it anyway. Dessert was... More

Visited here recently for a night away from Dublin, it was my second trip, my partners first. We both loved it. The place is lovely, the staff friendly and the food exceptional. We had the surprise tasting menu (8 courses I think!). Highlights were the bread!, the curried Monkfish plate, the quail tasting place was superb, and the petits fours.... More

Have dined here numerous times. Live in the area. Always enjoy my visit but every time I always feel a bit disappointed when it comes to dessert. When I read the menu there is never a dessert that I really want to have, let alone more than one. Last visit was a few weeks ago and menu had things like... More

Expensive for the small amount of choice. Wine expensive not that great either. I think people get carried away with the nice surroundings and feel the food tastes better than it does. Wood pigeon as a starter! this is the cheapest meat available and treated as a pest on the farm! Says it all really.

Been 3 times to restaurant great decor excellent feel first time round, staff could be a bit jollier to help experience, I found hair in soup but they quickly apologised. Wish there where a few more restaurants around with such a lovely property.

Having relatives in Cavan I have eaten in many many establishments across the county. None can compare to the Olde Post Inn. We had lunch there and from the moment we walked through the door we felt immediately welcome. The staff are friendly, relaxed and accommodating. The menu is varied and adaptable. The vegetarian on our table was given a... More

On my first visit to the Olde Post I knew it would not be my last! The setting is beautiful both during the day and at night, and the restaurant itself is so welcoming and cosy! The staff greet you with friendly smiles making you feel at home while you are invited to sit on the couches in the reception... More
