Scarcely two hours from Dublin, we found a magical country retreat, set amidst silent, centuries-old forests and rippling lakes where you might be the only wanderers. Our spacious accommodations in the Gatekeeper's stone cottage were spotless and inviting, set up for cooking a full meal in a brand new kitchen, with lovely views over the meadows. Five days was scarcely... More

Very nice trip. We stayed one week but we wanted to stay) for ever. The place is very nice. The house was very well, a kitchen, two rooms, a lounge very relaxing. Alan and Audrey were always there for us. I shall return in the coming years

I had a brief stay here while visiting the International Fungi Festival in nearby Killegar. The whole area is stunning in its landscapes and nature. Allan and Audrey were the perfect hosts and ensured my stay was enjoyable. The cottages are a nice blend of modern facilities set amongst historic old buildings dating back hundreds of years.

What about Irish hospitality .... That they are helpful, nice and smiling people is not just an empty word ... I found it during my journey in Castle Hamilton. This Irish couple is steeped in attention, is always ready to serve you in their beautiful facility ... Nearby, the pike fishing enthusiasts will find many lakes to indulge in this... More

we stayed one week in the Foresters house and it was absolutely fantastic. The house is clean, modern and has every comfort a family with children needs: space, dishwasher, washing machine, large kitchen. The surroundings are so nice. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended !

We had a very good week, the area is very charming and beautiful. We met Alan and Audrey, the owners and they looked after us very well. They couldn't do more! We would like to thank... More

This was my first time in Ireland, and I was sincerely impressed by the warm welcome of the owners. Our accomodation was excellent, everything clean and comfortable, and I really enjoyed my stay. A great place to go.

There are two things that make this holiday special for us. First is the superb cottage courtyard with its old stone buildings and comfortable apartments, set in the grounds of an old stately home (now long gone, but the beautiful parkland remains). The second is the friendliness of the owners Alan and Audrey, who make you feel welcome and ensure... More

This was our second visit to Castlehamilton, and it was even better than the first, as the games room was completed. Ideal for those who want to play games, or just relax with a magazine. Location fantastic, right in the village, yet in acres of ground, with its own lake for boating or fishing. The houses themselves are very spacious,... More
