This hotel did not open in 2012. It is up for sale. Presumably it will be sold at some stage and it will re-open.When it re-opens I will post on Tripadvisor. In the meantime there is very nice accommodation in Kilkee be it Hotels, Guesthouses, B & Bs or self-catering holiday home or apartment.

Very noisy outside all night. Hotel outdoor lights shining into our room. Room excessively hot. Bathroom dirty and smelly. Room was shabby. Staff seemed very inexperienced. Tried their best. Nobody was rude but felt that if I had any problems their wasn't anybody to go to. Would never go back and have to say it was a very bad experience.... More

the only good thing about our stay here was te coffee and croisant that we had in the bus shelter outside this kip whichh we got in the local shop. To start with we asked for scrambled egg for our 1 year oild for her etea inthe bar and was told that the chef wouldnt make it as it was... More

Hotel tired, dreary and dated. In need of major overhaul. Location overlooking sea beautiful and this is is why I selected it for a romantic night away with my husband. What a disappointment. Smell of disinfectant inside to mask other smells. Lift dangerous. Litter in lift when we arrived on Saturday afternoon and still in there when we left on... More

I have to say that I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything about it was disappointing. I realise it is just a seasonal hotel but it really needs a makeover. The service was terrible, however I do not blame the staff as it loooked like they were students just on a summer job but bettter training is required. I... More

The positives are that the hotel is located in the beautiful town of Kilkee and it looks right out onto the beach. I stayed in this hotel between the 16th and 18th August 2010. We had an evening meal included in our package which was surprisingly nice despite the fact that the service was appalling. The hotel dining room looks... More

Travelled here for 3 nights on 16.08.10 and found it to be the most dissappointing hotel I have stayed in. Very dated decor and with hugely inexperienced staff. Rooms were very dingey and the Bar was filthy and very dated. Bar food was terrible and they had no ketchup!! The meal is in the restaurant was actually suprisingly nice but... More

Really enjoyed my short stay in the Ocean Cove. Reception staff were very nice and helpful and always had a smile. Room was lovely bright and clean, requested a sea view room and got one, no extra charge. Breakfast was fine, personally not a lover of a buffet style breakfast, much prefer to see the traditional Irish breakfast coming straight... More

Myself and my wife booked a sea-view room with a balcony and I was very glad I had paid extra for this room. The room had a lovely view and had tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is a 3 star hotel and is definitely no more. It has a 'tired' look which seems to date from the seventies. It is... More

We stayed in August, whilst room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was of a very poor standard, very basic. The hot breakfast was largely undercooked each day of our 4 day stay. We had dinner on one night which certainly was not worth Eur19 per person. The staff were helpful but it was clear that the management is running the... More
