Took my wife away for the evening for a one night break. The history of Killaloe/Ballina itself is fascinating but the hotel location, nestled on the Ballina bank of the Shannon, is something special. Even just for the view which is gorgeous at night when the twin town lights come on. Our room was a std double with the view... More

The hotel is in a beautiful part of Ireland and the drive from Galway is amazing. Everyone we met was friendly and very helpful and I'm already looking forward to returning. Do yourself a favour and book a room here you will not be disappointed.

A large group of us spent the weekend in killaloe at the lakeside Hotel. We had a ball. The food was excellant both in the bar and the restaurant. A large group of people(approx 25/28 people)I'm sure can be difficult for anybody to serve. A special thanks to Jamie in the bar who entertained and served us promptly. I would like to... More

Recent trip with wife and two young children - one night stay en route to Kerry - Sunday night, great deal, €70 for a large family room, well equipped and modern with plenty of room. Facilities are great with good gym and great swimming pool, slides etc which the kids loved. Dinner in the hotel bar was good and plenty... More

I booked a weekend away here with my girlfriend. We stayed in a lake view room that was very comfortable and well appointed. The views over the gardens, the lake and back towards Killaloe bridge are very beautiful. The food was good, but the service was excellent. A lovely little hotel that is set in an idyllic garden and one... More

We decided to stop by Ballina-Killaloe to visit one of Ireland's best kept secrets on the Lough Der Drive. WE did not spend the night in Killaloe but would stay here if in the area again. The location was very nice. The restaurant was a lovely place to stop for lunch and the food was good. Especially the seafood chowder-... More

Was at The Lakeside Hotel yesterday at a family wedding. From start to finish it was a most professional experience. The meal was beautiful & the service was first class. It was a wet day so we could not enjoy the most beautiful scenery in Killaloe but it in no way hindered a most enjoyable day.

Stayed here in August for a wedding. Fab wedding venue. Loved the set up in the ballroom. Staff were great, room was v spacious, little bit old as in the en suite could do with refurbishment...but overall lovely. Heard some guests say their rooms were small, but ours defiantly was not. Ate food in bar day after wedding, was v... More

Just popped in here on Monday night for a bite to eat, first time in O'Hara's Bar. While there was a historic talk going on for a tour group, there are plenty of nooks in which to have some privacy. The sole bar staff member on duty was very attentive & friendly. The bar menu was very comprehensive. Our food... More
