We booked for a night's stay after the wedding of my brother-in-law. The wedding was excellent and was in the older part of the hotel. Unfortunately, the weather was windy and wet and all guests had to walk outside to these buildings. When returning to our room there were no lit pathways, which is something that needs to be considered,... More

We stayed here last weekend for two nights to celebrate our friends' wedding, which was being held in the hotel. From the very first moment, when we were greeted warmly by Kate at reception, to our seamless checkout, everything was perfect. The rooms are gorgeous, massive four poster bed, great furniture and lovely bathroom. All of the food that we... More

big comfy rooms, a fabulous dinner, friendly staff - had an overall excellent stay - 9 of us stayed here for one night for a 50th birthday party and we had a great time from start to finish - my only complaint is that 3 others joined us for dinner and they were charged more for their dinner which I... Went to Barberstown castle for dinner with friends on 10 November 2015, there was a great range on the menu, we had eel to start with and venison for mains which were cooked to perfection. The staff where helpful and friendly.

As one drives the avenue leading to the hotel it becomes apparent that a blissful stay awaits. We( my wife and I ) stayed two nights midweek 25/26th Nov gone by, and realised we had discovered a gem. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room, on ground floor was spacious, clean and comfortable. Wifi was available throughout the... More

I recently completed an eight night tour of Ireland. The only lodging that I had any apprehension about was the Barberstown, based on some TripAdvisor reviews. I want to state that the place is charming and I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I saw none of the rudeness reported on some of the reviews. I loved the... More

my husband and I have just returned from a two night stay in Barberstown Castle in Kildare. What a treat! We had a most beautiful room on the ground floor complete with a huge four poster bed. We were very surprised to hear that the area of the castle we stayed in was in fact only built 10 years ago.... More

I was quite nervous before our stay as I anticipated there may be rudeness as stated in a few recent posts. We experienced quite the opposite. I have never relaxed so much. We got a fabulous deal and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Don't forget to ask for your discount at the desk for Kildare Village or Newbridge... More

Spent a night here with my wife, 16 years after having our wedding reception there. Very disappointed with the effect of the Celtic-Tiger expansion which to me has ripped the soul out of the place and added absolutely nothing in terms of amenities. What appealed to us for our wedding was the series of little drawing rooms and the cosy... More
