I got married here in May 2012 and there is honestly not one negative thing I can say about Barberstown ,the venue, the quality of food, the rooms, the staff, everything was THE BEST. I live abroad so having that assurance that everything I was requesting, the numerous requests I'm sure I put in, were all attended to so professionally... More

Irish people were always hospitable. But living in a 16th century castle with all the modern facilities is a charm. Large rooms, king size beds, very quite (only 55 rooms in two buildings) and unbelievable romantic. Sitting by the fire with live music shows in the background with nothing but my gal at my side and a cup of Irish... More

We enjoyed a family get together with my sisters last night in barberstown castle. Staff were friendly and efficient. Even though it's a castle, there's a very relaxed homely feel. Rooms and beds were beautiful and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast. I particularly recommend delicious pate starter and decadent summer fruits meringue. This morning's breakfast was very nicely cooked... More

Just spent a weekend at Barberstown castle for my daughters wedding on Sat Aug 23rd. from the offset the staff were obliging, pleasant and so hard working. the food was amazing and the service faultless. great rooms with every comfort. one small negative was that twice in the tearooms we asked for toast for a 1 year old and were... My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for his brothers wedding. The hotel is very accessible from the city by using the bus eireann 120 bus which drops you a minute from the hotel. Upon checkin we were upgraded to a junior suite which was just fantastic! The room was beautifully decorated with a huge 4... More

This hotel is first class. We were at a wedding and the staff couldn't do more for us, the venue was magical and the food was superb. Facilities and the décor were outstanding. Will definitely come again.

We had hoped to book a night a the "K Club" close by but they were fully booked due to a wedding venue, so instead, after consulting Ireland's Blue Book, imagined that Barberstown Castle had a little magic touch to offer. Sadly, it fell short of its mark. The room was, well, ok, but surely the imitation period furniture isn't... More

We got married here last December for a Christmas wedding. Couldn't have been more happy. The staff was great, the venue was magnificent. Food's delicious, rooms were great. It was magical! They helped us every step of the way and went out of their way to ensure we were happy. The candles that lit up the place really added to... More

Ate in restaurant Friday August 2nd. The staff were pretty indifferent. We had a drink at the bar but were not allowed to order our food so had to go to our table with our pre dinner drinks. Lamb that was ordered pink came out totally overcooked and was immediately changed for correct one .... Steak was utterly tasteless. We... More

I had stayed in Barberstown many times in the past and always had a great time. Indeed, we actually had our wedding there 5 years ago and so have always had fond memories. However, we stayed there a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and from beginng to end, our stay was incredibly disappointing. The lift... More
