I stayed as part of a small group having a conference at the venue staying in February. The hotel has great character, and is kept in very good order. The hotel has many good features, roaring log fires, individuality, a great restaurant in the old castle. Breakfast was good but the evening meals were great.

Stayed here for one night - hoping for a "castle experience" .... well there is a castle or part of one but this didn't rate with some of the castle stays I have experienced in Scotland for example. This may be typical of Irish castle stays I am not sure. Having said that, we had a very pleasant experience ....... More

Stayed here when attending a wedding at New Year and we were very impressed with the level of service and detail on offer here. Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was beautifully decorated, with a four poster bed and a massive bathroom. It was also immaculately clean. As we were attending a wedding we didn't get to try... More

Attended a wedding at the castle. Lovely food all served hot, which sometimes can be an issue at weddings. Nice spacious function room, heated with various fires. Very nice and spacious bed rooms. On the negative side there was no TV in function bar, no large bottles of cider, no cigarettes/cigars for sale on site either. Overall I enjoyed my... More

Stayed here this week for an anniversary celebration.. There is no bar, Yes no Bar. When we booked we were told the restaurant wasn't open, fair enough and that food was being served in the Tea rooms. When we arrived we checked in and some time later went downstairs to have a drink and look around. We were told there... More

We visited here in Dec 2014. The reception staff were nice. The Deluxe Room was Stunning! The hotel is nice but really Isn't much to it. No proper lounge area. The Tea area is empty, chilly and Abandoned. We had Read so much about this apparent fantastic restaurant, we were looking forward to dinner all week! The menu selection wasn't... More

We won a night in barberstown a few months ago and I'm so glad we did as it's probably somewhere we never would have visited as it's so close to Dublin. But it's the perfect place to get away from the city for a night. We loved it from the moment we arrived, the reception staff are so nice and... More

We visited Barberstown Castle on 30 Nov for 1 night. I did not notice that there was no dining room service available on Sunday until after I booked. The Tea Tooms was very busy with Sunday lunch when we arrived and there was no other place to sit except your bedroom. They offered to light a fire in the bar... More

The experience was a very pleasant one from check-in to departure and the rooms were extremely comfortable. Would definitely go back for a stay and use the facilities as we spent too little time in the hotel. On departure we were given a voucher to compensate for the noisy wedding, which we didn't hear, the night before. All very proactive.
