Delightful hotel, set in a peaceful and tranquil grounds overlooking Loch Swilley. We had dinner which was delicious and breakfast which was cooked to order, which I find preferable to the buffet style in most hotels these days. The food was beautifully presented and of a very high standard. The bedroom and en suite bathroom were huge. I would thoroughly... More

My brother and I recently had our 21st birthday meal here! We were welcomed into a private drawing room on arrival, and a plethora of seats to chose from, the staff were very helpful and welcoming too! We were able to sit and relax in our drawing room and then were seated for dinner whenever it suited us. The food... More

What a great hotel this is and not at all hard to find, it was nice not to be in a noisy township for a night. very close to Letterkenny anyway. The grounds are very spacious so the outlook from the rooms is lovely. this is an historical building so enjoy its creaks. the furnishings are very much in keeping... More

The hotel is tucked away from the main road in Letterkenny so it can be a bit difficult to catch the turn off if you're not sure where you're going but it's worth it. Firstly the manor and the grounds are absolutely stunning. We arrived to tea/coffee and cookies and relaxed in one of the drawing rooms. The dinning room... More

We call it Castle Grudge. First of all...make sure that you know the direction. We haven't found any direction signs on the streets and it is 7km from Letterkenny and Ramelton away. So, if you are looking for a central stay to one of those cities...a clear nope! The place it is located could be very beautiful, with a lake... More

We stayed at the Castle Grove Hotel for two nights 17th & 18th May whilst touring Northern Ireland in two Classic MG Midgets. The Hotel and Staff could not have been better., Nothing was an issue and the welcome on arrival with tea and cakes was excellent. We had dinner on both evenings and in both cases was first class... We spent two nights B&B here recently and we will be back. Raymond, Mary and Irene are gracious and generous hosts who make you feel like you are their cherished and special guests. The house is genuinely old and authentic. The bed was extremely comfortable and the spotlessly clean room was spacious and beautifully fitted with lovely old furniture. Unfortunately... More

Focus first on the welcome. The owners are wonderful. The old description means just that, this is a 1600 country home filled with beautiful old antiques, old decor and an old ambience which makes it charming. If you are a traveler looking for generic, institutional perfection, this inn isn't for you. It's for the traveler wanting a unique experience and... More
