We stayed here for 5 nights in a large very comfortable room. The staff were very friendly and obliging. Samuel Beckett's mother was born here and there are stern portraits of Samuel looking at you as you have your drinks ! Unfortunately events conspired to stop us eating at the restaurant but it was always full. If I have one... More

My family and I had Sunday lunch here last weekend for a birthday celebration. The food - all starters, mains and desserts were delicious. There was a good selection on the children's menu too. I requested peppermint tea after dinner, of which they had none, so they made some up for me with fresh mint leaves! All of us left... More

Had lunch here on Sunday last, with our daughter and her family. It was a very enjoyable experience. The food was just marvellous, 3 courses and tea/coffee. Good range of choices, and good amounts of food at each course. The staff were fabulous, attentive, accommodating without being stuffy, and the ambience in the restaurant was very relaxing and welcoming. I... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night in March. It was for a big anniversary which instated when booking as based on previous reviews, I didn't want to get stuck in one of the smaller rooms. However, we got room 3 and it was very disappointing. They completely ignored my request and didn't even acknowledge it. Negatives: Reception... More

Staff have to be the friendliest in Ireland. Service was marvellous. Food was excellent. Bedroom was lovely. My wife's necklace dropped in the sink and disappeared into the s-bend. I mentioned this to the manager and he said "no worries".10 minutes later he arrived back with it. Unbelievable service above and beyond the call of duty!!!!!!!

We had lunch here recently. Being local we use this restaurant quite a lot and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly & efficient and the the food is always great. We brought 2 friends with us and they thought the same. You would need a reservation as it us a busy & popular restaurant. Look forward to... More

Excellent hotel, stayed in this hotel on recommendation; this praise was based on the professionalism of the Hotel Manager, Colin and his marvellous colleagues. Neither disappointed and lived up to their reputation. We were given a second floor suite, bags of space, most comfortable bed and good sized en-suite bathroom. We didn't get a chance of eating in the restaurant,... More

I have stayed in this hotel some time ago...I remember driving around and looking for it...In actual fact it was less than 2 mins from motorway behind old walls. I would note say this place is good for county walks..There does not seem to be much around....Well, you will need to drive to get anywhere...However, hotel has spacious and nicely... More

We stayed here for my wife's birthday last weekend. The first time we had stayed here. We have eaten here many times in the past and have always enjoyed our meal. We checked in and were given the key to our room No 6. We then went to our room on top floor, the hotel is very tastefully decorated using... More

Myself and my wife have eaten in the restraunt of Becketts several times, the food is always amazing. As an extra treat for our anniversary we booked an overnight deal with dinner included. On arrival we were booked in to a suite even though we thought our booking was a standard room. The suite made our stay even more enjoyable.... More
