Stayed here over St. Patrick's weekend. The hotel is charming, and the staff are brilliant. It is very good value to stay here, and the food is good. The only complaint about the food is that the portions are very large, now I know that this suits a lot of people. The breakfast is a little dried up, so I... More

We stopped for the obligatory "sunset on Galway Bay", and loved the wee town and this hotel. Our room had an enormous skylight, with a vast view of the Burren, and was extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. The sunroom down the hall was a lovely warm and bright touch, and needed in such a windy cool area. Our dinner was... More

Quite happy with our one night stay here. nobody at the hotel as they close in three days for off season, but breakfast weas good, rooms are clean, well priced, quiet, staff very helpful. Arrived with a big bag of wet clothing from the rain and they let us use their dryers for three hours for free to dry off... More

Very comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms, excellent food and friendly and attentive staff. My friends, from America, and I spent a night here on our trip to the Burren and we were all extremely impressed.

While we did not stay here (booked at Gregans Castle Hotel) we had dinner here. Thought the food was outstanding in the pub. My wife thought the seafood chowder was the best, while my fish and chips were also outstanding. We traveled all over Ireland, staying and eating at many 4-5 star places, but this was by far the best... More

Lovely little hotel, the staff are friendly, helpful and courteous... The food in the bar was great, there were daily specials too which was nice! The rooms are a tiny bit dated but very clean and exactly what you'd expect from a little guest house in Village... The Village itself is charming too - I'd definitely stay here again! Breakfast... I was part of a party of four staying for one night. Rooms are spacious. We had reservations for dinner on site and we were not disappointed with the food or service. Breakfast was served in the dining room with a full menu to choose from. Had made arrangements to meet a local author prior to checkout and the staff... More

We stayed one night at Hyland's during a trek through The Burren. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We spent a little time in the pub before heading to dinner in nearby Kilcolgan. Unfortunately, it was a very warm night, so not as comfortable up on the top floor as it might have been. We did get to listen... More

Returned to Hylands for two nights after a number of years to find that the hotel is back to its best. Confortable and cozy and a great base for exploring the Burren and North Clare. The staff were very friendly, the room was great and we had a bar meal one night which was very enjoyable. Ballyvaughan is exquisite to... More

Hylands is exactly what you want from a small village hotel, it is ideally situated at the crossroad in the centre of charming but tiny Ballyvaughan, the staff and service are excellent and the rooms a good standard for the value they offer. We stayed off season mid week so the attached bar was quite, the bar was well appointed... More
