I rang the hotel in advance and booked a double room for two nights last weekend. I was told that the rooms had been done up and were really nice, the price was 120euro for two people per night which was a bit pricey but I thought it would be worth it. However when my partner and I arrived on... More

I've just returned from Ballyvaughan, Ireland, where I stayed at the newly re-opened Hylands Burren Hotel. I had read that there were peat fires in the bar and common areas, which was true, and the dark and smoky smell was welcoming. The ground floor has two lounges with large, comfortable couches and chairs, where you can relax before dinner. The... More

We stayed at the hotel in august 2012 for two nights. The hotel is clean, staff very polite and great atmosphere in the hotel bar. There was an open fire in the lobby which made the hotel very cosy. There are some wonderful walks around the area and the Ailwee Cave which you should definitely go and see if you... More

I have just returned from a stay at The Hylands hotel and it was without doubt the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The room was basic but clean enough which we didnt mind as we were only staying for one night. We dined with family at a nearby restaurant and when we returned around midnight our... More

We have just returned from this hotel. Where do I start! We checked in and the room was basic but clean. We then went for dinner which was nice too. After dinner went into the bar as there was a band playing later that evening. As we started to order drinks we found the barman would have preferred if didn't... More

We stayed here for two nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, plenty of room for our one year old to run around in, it was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The bar attached was a lovely place to spend an evening with the fish available on the... More

Just got back from 4 nights at the Hylands Burren Hotel on business. The staff were all very kind and the food was delicious. The rooms were cleaned every morning to a very good standard and the hotel location is very relaxed. Try the seafood chowder, incredible.

We were there with our two children who loved the family room. There is a lovely relaxed chilled out vibe to this place. We had dinner, great value, and a lovely breakfast there. They serve a brilliant pint of Guinness in the bar and make sure you try the seafood chowder.

Enjoyed our short stay in Ballyvaughan. We were here for a wedding and chose this hotel because of its central location. It is right in the village and walking distance from everywhere as it can be tough getting a taxi late at night and we didnt want to find ourselves walking on dark roads. Our room was to the front...
