Enjoyed a lovely nights dinner and stay for my birthday. James (owner) and staff very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Attention to guests just excellent. Food was delicious (dinner & breakfast) and the venue has a charm to it which money can't buy.

Not just a guest house, if Fortnum and Mason's made a guest house this would be it. Woodhill House provides an authentic country house experience, reminiscent of the style and service that used to prevail in times gone by. Arriving on a cold and wet night in January, stepping into the welcoming surroundings of Woodhill House is delightful. Our charming... More

Room looked very nice but was very stuffy even with the garden door open (no windows that open). Yard light on all night meant the room was quite bright so difficult to sleep. Breakfast was poor, coffee tasted reheated and choice of menu very limited. Would not make a return visit.

A fabulous accommodation in heart of Donegal Landscape. Rooms were great, classic décor. Staff were great and the service was brilliant. Was here for a wedding reception and cannot recommend enough. Beautiful scenery.

While on a small group tour of Scotland and Ireland, I stayed at Woodhill House for two nights. I had a lovely room in the 17th century coach house, nicely furnished and comfortable. The house is surrounded by lovely gardens and a sense of calm. The reception room serves as a pub for guests and locals, and is a nice... More

Our stay at Woodhill House was flawless! We could walk out of our room into the magical walled garden....and it was a short walk across the driveway to the main house where the cosy and congenial bar with peat fire burning awaited us. Dinner was outstanding and served by Sarah, an attentive and charming waitperson. Fun to chat with John,... More

The gardens at Woodhill House are beautiful. Room was very spacious with a small balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the gardens. House was historic and beautifully decorated. Really enjoyed the bar area. Breakfast is average. Dinner was very good but expensive. I would definitely stay here again. Enjoyed hearing the sheep bleating in the distance and being in... More

Stayed in August for a night with dinner. Room was in the old stable, the room was large and comfortable. The dinner was a mixed bag, we were first shown to the bar which was a bit cramped and stuffy, the father and son team who run the place were a bit quirky to say the least and left me... More

An enjoyable stay and a very good option in a small country town. The owners and staff were delightful and helpful from the day we made the reservation until we checked out and the grounds are a delight to wander. Irish charm at every turn. Good breakfast too. But some of the rooms and areas are showing their age, with... More

We found out about this place by accident after my wife visited the local hairdresser. She highly recommended it and she wasn't wrong. We were staying in Ardara for a weeks holiday and were looking to sample the local restaurants. I have to say this was by far the best we tried. James who looked after us and another lady... More
