We stayed here in June. No one here when we arrived and we had to phone. The host arrived shortly after in a rush - chose room, chose pillow then he exited, not to be seen again. A lady helper arrived next morning to provide breakfast and receive our cash. The view from the lounge was excellent. Would endorse the... More

The town of Ardara is truly quaint and welcoming and the views exceptional, definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately our experience at the Abbey Lodge was less welcoming. The bathroom was infested with insects which no matter how frequently we washed away continued to reappear. Also worth noting that the credit card machine does not work so if you do venture... More

This was our second time to book out this house in less than a year for a family occassion taking place in Ardara town. Our first stay was a very pleasant experience and Hugh did a lot to make it homely and comfortable. He had stocked the fridge up with breakfast supplies and milk as we had requested to have... More

We stayed at this place over 16 June. Great host Siobhan who welcomed us. We were here for a wedding and was able to use the room much from morning onwards. Great views over the hills and coast. Will definitely stay here again

First impressions of our room and the public rooms of the house were not the best but we would definitely stay here again. Hugh was just the nicest person, the view was fabulous, and our room was clean and comfortable. Great stay!

Yes, the house is not luxurious but is very comfortable with outstanding views.Breakfasts are first-class.The host ( Hugh) is remarkable ; he is charm personified and nothing is too much trouble. At the end of a long day of cycling we were disinclined to eat out. Hugh was happy to allow us to use the breakfast room to eat our... More

Our group of four spent two nights here. The views of the bay from the common rooms really are wonderful and there are two large sitting areas to relax in the evening, which we really appreciated after taxing days at the hiking and outdoor sites in this region. We had trouble with the hot water the first morning due to... More

Spent last 3 nights in Abbey Lodge. Hugh is a friendly, warm and welcoming fella who is very approachable. He couldn't do enough for us. The views are exceptional and the location is ideal. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. Hugh is happy for his guests to eat as much as they like, and provides a... More

The Abbey Lodge was truly a find! Hugh is a wonderful host and the views were beautiful. Breakfast was elegantly served. Close to the middle of town, about 5 minutes of passing interesting shops. Plenty of space to hang out, room was clean and comfortable. Can't go wrong here!

For us, this was a quick one-night stop. The view from our room was fantastic, the owner was very kind and even gave us a bottle of wine since it was our honeymoon! The location is nice - far enough out of town that we don't have to bother with city center noise, but close enough that it's a short... More
