If I were to judge the Fitzpatrick by its staff it would be five star without a doubt but I left feeling I had not had a square deal . I was over there for a friend's fiftieth birthday and let me say straight away that the hotel catered for our motley crew brilliantly, excelling with the celebration meal on... More

This was a beautiful and wonderful place to stay. All the staff were very kind and courteous. The room and decor was lovely and the food was excellent! My husband and I celebrated New Years at the Fitzpatrick and standing on our balcony overlooking the water watching all the Fireworks! It was so nice to be there for new years... More

Thanks to everyone at the Castle for a wonderful weekend, especially to Mark, the GM and Sandra, the revenue manager) We were sad to leave. Kids had a great time at the pool. Quality of the food (we ate in the Dungeon Bar, the Grill and the lobby and of course breakfast) was excellent and the level of service provided... More

First of all, this is not a castle, but more of an old-fashioned grand hotel--a little gone to seed but, for me, charming. Real fires and candles everywhere--mostly older people sitting in cozy couches in the lobby with drinks and tea and scones right out of an Irish novel--circa 1948. The young staff unfailingly friendly and attentive--ready to help with... More

The castle was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly, but I felt they should have been more knowledgeable about local spots to eat. We arrived too late to eat at the castle, so it would have been nice if they had been able to recommend some local spots without having to call around to find out if... More

Staff were polite and helpful, hotel was clean although on closer inspection a little tired and worn. Very busy lounge area on arrival but room levels were quiet. Room was not made up for my second nights stay and I had to go hunting for tea bags!! Food was good but more of a selection for room service would have... More

Disappointing - a Wed afternoon, not busy, dirty tables, slow service, ages to get tea after receiving food, sandwiches very chunky and not fresh!!! Slow to get attention to pay bill....Hotel is very run down in that area dirty and worn furniture very tired indeed, really gone down hill.

We couldn't be happier with the Fitzpatrick Castle and it's staff! We stayed over the Christmas holidays and from reservations to check-out the entire experience was wonderful! We called to inform them we would be arriving very late in the evening due to flight delays. Our room was held and it was a very easy and fast check-in. The pool... More

Shocking really. My favourite hotel around but what an absolute disappointing afternoon tea :( Myself , my sister my mam and nephew tried to beat the January blues with a trip for afternoon tea! Long story short it took an hour for tea to arrive. When it did eventually arrive it was no were near freshly made ...The brown bread... More
