We have stayed in the royal for the last 6 years every September when we come over for a family event some years we have stayed more than once and over the last couple of times we have stayed we haven't been impressed and are seriously looking to stay else where. Although the location is very good and the bar... More

Stayed here last weekend , very overpriced 200euro room only , 2 be honest would not eat here as other reviewers have said the smell is overpowering at times . I commented to the bar man that there was a really bad smell such as dirty bins he sprayed air fresher but to be honest place needs a serious deep... More

Well I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Nice rooms and facilities, however, the staff really let the place down!!! The lady on reception was incredibly rude when we arrived and acted as if she was doing us a favour by allowing us to stay here and the lady dealing with breakfast was just as rude!! You shouldn't have to ask... More

All I can say is do not stay here ever. The hotel is so tired and smelly and dirty. The whole experience was terrible. Oh and no WiFi in the rooms, in fact if you can get any signal on your phone in the room you will be lucky. It is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed... More

Wow what can I say... I really don't get all the negative reviews. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights whilst doing a charity bike ride through the Wicklow Mountains. On arrival to the hotel we booked in at reception. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We couldn't check in until 3pm which wasn't any bother because... More

Stayed for two nights. And it was good, the room was cozy and the bed I wanted to stay in. It is located nicely in the town so you have the option of going out to explore or staying in and relaxing. The bar is done up so you can eat in the hotel and have a few drinks.

Was originally booked in for 2 nights but had to leave after 1! Our room had two windows which overlooked the fire escape and faced a wall. I accept that most hotels have such rooms so I was not initially too bothered. The room itself was a reasonable size however that I'm afraid was it's only saving grace! The fixtures... More
