We stayed at Hill House as part of a tour of Southern Ireland and loved it. Carmel couldn't do enough to make us feel at home and the huge bedroom was lovely, as was the freshly cooked breakfast. Plenty of parking space and an easy walk to the Rock and town centre. What's not to like? More

We were so warmly welcomed at Hill House, it was truly the best of that legendary Irish hospitality. Our rooms was beautifully furnished with a lovely selection of antiques, and the salon and dining room made us want to hang around for hours. Once we were settled in, it was difficult to leave, but luckily the stunning view of the... More

This was a highlight of our trip. It was within sight of the castle and aloud for wonderful photos. The gardens were beautiful and the inside was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional offering virtually anything you wanted to make a fine breakfast. Best of all was the host, Carmel. She made us feel at home and offered... More

A wonderful, old Georgian home with wonderful views of the Rock of Cashel is the reward for booking with Carmel at Hill House. The home is beautiful and the grounds are perfect for relaxing. The Rock and the town are just down the hill and yet, your accommodation is nice and quiet. The breakfasts cannot be topped and Carmel is... More

We stayed for one night in July while on a quick trip to Ireland. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to learn that Hill House is at least as lovely in person as it looks in pictures. The house is lovingly preserved and the antique furnishings are both tasteful and comfortable. We stayed in the blue family room at front... More

Stayed here with my partner and two children for one night. Amazing views over castle and delicious breakfast (I had salmon). Catered for kids wonderfully with their own jug of hot chocolate. Carmel was very helpful with where to eat with kids and information about the beautiful town. The gardens are gorgeous - never smelt roses like that before. The... More

If you want a good, quiet night's rest in a well-maintained, character-filled 300-year-old "home away from home" that offers unparalleled views of "The Rock" and a mere 10-minute walk to the town center, plus a delicious breakfast and a warm smile from the owner [Carmel] that rivals any that we received during our recent two-week trip, then Hill House in... My family traveled to Ireland for the World Championship in Dublin but we decided to take a few extra days prior to visit the lovely towns of Ireland. Cashel and the Hill House was the perfect way to start our first day in Ireland. Being welcomed by the daughter when we arrived and being shown to our lovely room (what... More
