This was booked as a nice night away with family ..... most outdated place I've ever stayed. rooms so mismatched and out of date ... health and safety would have a ball .. extention leads hanging everywhere. tiny TV and no remote ... shower door missing in one room and sound from shower unreal. loose tea bags and tea tasted dreadful. rooms not cleaned ... chewing gum in drawer along with bottle of water and socks in drawer. breakfast was very limited and mine had a big hair going through it. smoking area was a yard which was locked so if anything happened no way out. emergency number outside door was written on a betting slip and stuck to the wall .... left early and will never return

What can I say, one of the worst places I've ever stayed, needs a complete overhaul. Extension lead for TV and kettle, no soap or bulb in bathroom, filthy skirting boards. Nobody was in the dining room to serve breakfast when I went in so I went into the kitchen to get food myself. On the other hand the hotel was cheap, the bedding was clean, plenty of pillows and price of a pint was reasonable, barmaid was lovely, had great craic in the bar. No airs or graces with place.

Absolutely amazing hotel, obviously slightly dated but the staff massively make up for that! Each and everyone of them went above and beyond for our family. Breakfast was lovely with loads of choice! Selina was just a babe! All the kids loved her as did we! We will 100% be back!

Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. This girl who checked me in was the only plus for this place. Hotel? No. More like Guesthouse or BnB. Hotels have better standards. This place is dated. Walls paper thin. Guy in room woke me when he was going to bed after pub banging doors. He woke me with his snoring. Then finally woke me slamming door, on phone and then TV on all before 9am. But the absolute piss take of it all was the Hotel Cleaner banging on room doors to get people up and out before 10am. Check out is 11am. Never, ever have I experienced such issues in hotel. Woman I met whilst checking out, early, was like well we can't control the guests. Ehmm yes, you can. You need to ensure ALL Guests get sleep without such selfish behaviour from other guests. Educate your cleaner on when a Guest pays to stay, that they do not bang on their doors before check out time, to demand the guest leave.

Stayed here last month with my boyfriend. Room wouldn’t lock for starters. We then found an old bag of croissants in the wardrobe. God knows how long they were there. We went for a few drinks and when we arrived back my boyfriend and I along with three other people were locked out of our rooms for three hours! The door to the hall leading to the bedrooms was locked. We waited in the lobby and rang the after hours number numerous times with no luck. Finally we flagged two guards down to see if they had any luck. We were finally let in to our rooms after 3am! With no apology. One night for €100 for a twin room was a disgrace. Would never go here again or recommend to anyone. Worst money I ever spent. Avoid avoid avoid.

I stay in a lot of small hotels around Ireland and this was by far the worst. There was no shower door which meant the room was flooded whenever I had a shower. The light in the room was not working so I was fumbling around in the dark every evening. The staff didn't seem too concerned when I told them about these two issues and did nothing to address them. There was no latch on the window so I could not close it properly. I thought this might not be a major issue until the first night when I realised there was a pub below my room with music and people standing outside. There was also a loud fan at the side of the pub which ran all night. There was one single socket in the room for TV, kettle, hair dryer, etc. No staff came near my room for the three days I was there. I had stayed here before and don't remember it being so bad so it seems to have gone downhill significantly in recent times. I emailed the hotel after to let me know of my dissatisfaction. They didn't bother to reply.

What a lovely surprise, a lovely welcome, cosy ensuite room, spotlessly clean, right in the centre of Clonmel. Not far from Clonmel golf course. Ideal for shopping and restaurants. Would strongly recommend it. Also an extremely comfortable bed.

This is definitely a ship that needs a good Captain. While it's very hard to complain when you're getting bed and breakfast for 45euro a night, single room, I have to admit, I'd rather pay a bit more and have no self service breakfast. It just doesn't work! When you are about to prepare your own breakfast, which none of us had any problem with, the least you can expect is a drop of milk for a cuppa. The two staff we met, Lorena and Amber, couldn't have been more helpful and courteous and looked to be trying their best to keep the ship afloat. Although we had one incident of disturbed sleep on our first night, which I'm sure was a one off, I would definitely use the hotel again. The rooms were very comfortable with a fantastic shower. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind the self service breakfast, but we did feel it wasa huge minus to the hotel. If you're looking for somewhere to put the head down for a few nights with no frills, then, at 45euro a night b/b, you can't go wrong.

We received a warm Irish welcome from Esther and her staff. The bar was lovely and friendly, we felt very comfortable, and well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Fennessy’s is well located in the centre of Clonmel, not too far from the motorway and access to Dublin and other regions, yet Clonmel is a charming Irish Town. The hotel is a grand building decorated in the classic style. We will certainly come again for a longer stay.
