Stayed here for one night. The decor is very dated and the room was quite cramped. I did not have a good night sleep as the bedclothes were made of a silk-like material which kept skidding off the bed. The room was a bit chilly and I also noticed some mold on the blinds. Breakfast was quite good but I'm... More

I stayed in this B&B recently and cannot recommend it highly enough. The welcome is genuinely friendly and warm, the rooms are very comfortable and all needs catered for: my room had tea/coffee making facilities and a microwave. The breakfast was a delight , I ordered scrambled egg and bacon , which were made to perfection and delivered with a... More

Everything about our one night stay at Greengates was excellent. Killian was attentive and very friendly, and served up a great Irish breakfast. The B&B is located 15-20 mins walk or 5 mins drive from Blackrock, a picturesque coastal village where we had dinner. The beds, shower and room were very comfortable, especially after 9 hours of driving from London... More

We were visiting planning to visit friends in Blackrock (near Dundalk) and found this charming accommodation on the web. There were three of us staying and we had a lovely room with one double and two twin beds. On arrival Killian, our host, showed us the room, gave us the required information, and welcomed us. As I was bringing in... More

Yes I would. A lovely warm welcome. One can choose from the breakfast menu the night before, so it is served quickly and efficiently the next morning with a great selection of fruits and cereal also available. Rooms are spotless and, while the shower cubicle is small, the water power if super and bathroom also spotless. Very helpful owners who... More

Rooms were nice and clean. Lovely welcome and breakfast. I'm only 5 ft 4 and felt I had to crouch in our room lots of low ceilings. The shower is also really small. All in a pleasant stay, nice owner, really quiet spot

I first stayed here with family in 2005 and so it was the first choice to return with my wife in 2012. Orla and family are so welcoming and friendly and their home is comfortable, well located and a pleasure to make a base for Newgrange, Slane and district. Do your self a favour, stay here - your home away... More

My husband and I moved to Ireland recently and had to stay at a hotel while we were settling in. After spending our first night in a less than than pleasant hotel, we were determined to drive around Dundalk and find something better for the rest of our stay. We wanted somewhere quiet so avoided places in the town centre... More

It was our first night in Ireland, we were very tired, not having slept on the flight over from Canada. Even though we were very early for check in, our hostess Orla made up our room in a pinch and we were asleep in our bed within 10 minutes! Lovely room, breakfast was really good, and the pot of coffee... More
