There is nothing to complain about here. View from our room was beautiful, overlooking the harbour. The staff went out of their way to serve good cooked food. We were all a bit chickened out but have to say, it was delicious food. Desserts were so yummy. Breakfast: I love my porridge and each morning, I asked a waitress for... More

Visited mid October on a touring trip. The hotel was warm, friendly with really helpful reception and bar staff. Wonderful reception area, great place to sit and read by the open fire. Traditional decor and set up but clean, great views across Bantry Bay and an experience of how hotel hospitality ought to be. Food won't set the world on... More

We arrived on Sunday 27 September 2015 for a 5 night stay with Newmarket Tours. We were instantly impressed with the reception area - beautifully furnished and were greeted by the lovely Trish. Our room was at the front on the first floor and had a lovely view over the bay. We paid extra for this room and it was... More

We stayed last Friday at the Eccles Hotel as part of driving tour organised by Irish Ferries. We were the ONLY guests in the hotel - a somewhat unnerving experience in such a large building. The room was OK. There was no food service. We had to order breakfast for the following morning. The place looked and felt as if... More

The Eccles has a superb aspect over Bantry Bay, but to avoid rooms at the rear with no views with some described by others in our group as over sized cupboards it's best to pay for an upgrade to ensure a frontal view. We paid the extra & our room on the 3rd floor just above the entrance looked out... More

The hotel was warm, spotlessly clean and the beds were extremly comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing - fresh and beautifully cooked. We had a lovely stay and felt very relaxed when we left and we would certainly go back again.

Not going to set the world alight with luxury but nevertheless a very comfortable, easygoing hotel with all the neccessities. Great setting overlooking the bay, convenient for local attractions but breakfast a bit limited in variety, sure, you can get the 'full irish' but not a great selection of alternatives.

This classic-looking hotel has the atmosphere of bygone days - but there is nothing wrong with the facilities - both modern and old fashioned. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great view from the porch over the water.
