WE were a little disconcerted by some of the reviews, however we stayed in this hotel for 5 days and were very pleased with the experience. AS we were part of a coach party the dinner menu was limited but we had sufficient choice and the staff were accommodating of difference. Good wholesome food, presented well and by friendly staff.... Worth paying extra for sea view bedroom, traditional hotel, a little tired, but excellent service and food very good, served piping hot by lovely friendly staff. Garnish Island well worth a visit and reached by local ferry. Hotel situated close to town and Bamboo Gardens. Travelled with Newmarket Holiday's and value for money.

We found the hotel welcoming and very adaptable at a very busy time. The manager especially was mingling with guests at mealtimes to see if they were being well served. He and other staff were more than helpful. Our room was large and clean with a lovely sea view, so our choice of this charming hotel to stay in Glengarriff... More

Wasn't sure what to find here, but our room was nice and overlooked the sea. Very friendly staff and an entertaining sing song and piano playing. Food good and homely. Great base to explore the area and Garnish Island was a great trip. Super gardens.

Had an amazing few days at the Eccles with the family. Child friendly very helpful friendly staff, beautiful food in both the bar and restaurant. Spectacular sea views . Plenty to do in Glengarriff, exploring the picturesque nature reserve, kayaking with seals, a boat trip to Garnish Island. Looking forward to returning to the fantastic Eccles very soon.

This hotel was very old world so you will either love it or hate it. Stayed there from 19th to 21st August with my husband and we loved it. Easy parking in front of an Agatha Christie style fronted hotel. Friendly staff who made you feel right at home. Our room faced the sea. Loved the fact that you could... More

This is a very well-appointed hotel overlooking the bay, with good parking, a nice lobby and friendly staff. Wi-fi only available in lobby, not in rooms. The bay-view room was v.comfortable, clean and spacious and we slept well, followed by a standard 'full Irish' breakfast. Our mistake was in breaking our own long-standing rule not to have dinner in the... More

Stayed here for weekend 9/10 august. Food was fantastic not fine dining but consistent quality wholesome tasting grub whether it's breakfast lunch or dinner. Staff so help and friendly . Mattresses so comfortable and we had stunning views from our room. Location excellent to explore the Beara peninsula. Wifi in lobby only at the moment a blessing as kids not... More

This hotel is of a certain era, you will either love it or hate it. It is an old building with modern(ish) additions that is in the most stunning location. The staff are pleasant and as chatty as required but lack perhaps a polished service. We had an interconnecting room on the return of the first floor which felt like... More
