We were met by a very friendly lady who made us very welcome. The hotel is in dire need of a face-lift. Our bed was uncomfortable and my wife chose to sleep on the floor instead. The restaurant has a painted concrete floor, trestle-like tables and zero ambience. The hotel could be nice but is in desperate need of some... More

Mrs brown very helpful and a really great host. The house has character and the room was Clean and acceptable. A good place to stay in Waterville was a bit disappointed at having to pay extra for breakfast even though it did say it on the booking with booking.com I had some crazy belief that a b&b was just that.... My partner and I visited for one evening with our two boys. The rooms were exceptionally clean, lovely bathroom facilities and the owners were both extremely welcoming. We had dinner in the small restaurant attached, we didn't know what to expect but we had the best meal we had during our Ireland break. A++ food It was a fleeting visit... More

My boyfriend and I used this B&B when we were walking the Kerry Way. Comfortable room, excellent shower, nice breakfast. The landlady is a bit brusque. We arrived early - about 1pm - and she simply said come back any time after 4pm. She did let us leave our bags though, and clearly wasn't intending to be rude.

Stayed here one night during the bank holiday int the end of May. Clean and spacious room. Shared bathroom, but very clean and well kept. Wonderful couple, Margaret and Allan, that took their time to talk to all their guests. Waterville is a relaxing village. Take a stroll along the sea, if you are a golfer you´re in heaven, if... We enjoyed a night at this venue. It has great historic significance and our room was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent. We had dinner in and the local seafood was cooked to perfection.

Stayed 2 nights in July 14 in this lovely B&B in a terrific location for seeing the Kerry coastline. We found the owners, Margaret and Alan, very friendly and helpful and enjoyed a very nice evening meal. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms very clean and entirely as advertised. Great value stay.

Once we contacted Margaret to book this break we knew we were on to a winner. She was very helpful from the word go and had a great welcome for us on arrival. Our accommodation certainly met our needs. Nice spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, small (but adequate) bathrooms. A house of character (with rooms available on ground floor for those... More

We stayed in The Old Cable Historic House in June 2014. The old house is in a good condition and the host, Margaret and Alan, contribute to a pleasant stay. We came to play golf at the Waterville Golf Course. The Old Cable House is conveniently close located.

Before I booked this place I'd read some of the other reviews people had posted. They mentioned the great welcome, the great hosts, the great fish in the restaurant etc. When I arrived at 5.30pm I was met by a gentleman who didn't introduce himself and certainly wasn't particularly welcoming. He let me in and then disappeared for 10 mins... More
