Thank you so much for your genuine Irish hospitality during our stay last month. We adored your authentic B&B and your breakfast was top notch. The room was so clean and fresh and the largest we stayed in during our travels around the Emerald Isle. We were very dubious about staying in B&B accommodation but you made us feel so... more

This dog friendly bed and breakfast with its own restaurant was clean and central for touring the south ireland peninsula's. The owners were so accommodating and kind and the food was marvellous. The full irish breakfast was the best we had all week and the irish stew absolutely delicious. Our room was not the most stylish we have ever been... more

Imagine being met by a smiling lady who made us a cuppa and who could speak proudly and knowledgably about the area. This B&B is famous for being the terminal of the first Atlantic telephone cable. Tony wanted to stay there because of his interest in history. Yes, they even have cable samples that date back to 1866. The room... more

We highly recommend the Old Cable Historic House. Margaret and Alan are wonderful people. They looked after all our needs, and it was a delight chatting with Margaret. Be sure to make reservations for dinner because Alan is an excellent cook. We walked a portion of the Kerry Way during our stay and forgot our walking pants in our room.... more

this is a clean and comfortable base for exploring Kerry and is pet friendly. The welcome is warm and friendly. Please be advised though that most local restuarants close around 9 pm more

I am writing this exactly one year late! We stayed with the Browns for a few days before our wedding in Waterville. As our budget was limited and they offered an excellent deal, our expectations were simply a clean warm bed and some basic food. The room was small but charming and clean, and came with a portable cot already... more

We stayed two nights, hoping to visit Skellig island. We were given a warm, friendly greeting and afternoon tea. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We all enjoyed our breakfasts. This is an authentic country house hotel. more

Selected this B&B based on some good reviews. Arrived in Waterville around 6PM and tried to find the place by following signs. Drove around for about 20 mins and finally found it with help of local woman. The Old Cable house itself is about 100ms away and unrelated to the B&B. Guess the name was borrowed to add a little... more

Room was OK but NO TV or tea and coffee making - missing the basics. Way too many blankets of the bed! Shower was poor and in ned of a re-furb. There was a nice TV room with sky TV but the owner kicks you out about 11pm - not good Breakfast was good more

We have just arrived back in Canada after a trip to Ireland and England. We stayed at the Old Cable House, which was one of 6 bed/breakfasts we stayed in during our hike around the Ring of Kerry. It was also the most memorable. We were very warmly greeted by Margaret, the owner, who was extremely helpful, as we had... more
