I stayed here with two friends for one night and everything about the stay was perfect! we arrived early and were able to check in right away, the room was large and warm and the bathroom was huge! For breakfast he took our orders the night before and it was divine! Scramble eggs with salmon and the owner even made... More

There was some confusion when we arrived about our room/reservation, but once we got that straightened out, everything else was fantastic. There were four of us and we stayed in what seemed to be a new addition to the house. Our room was very nice with comfortable beds, a large bathroom and very clean. In the morning we had a... More

So.. we booked this B&B in April for our September trip. On arrival, the ?manager eventually arrived. We introduced ourselves.. Oh, David. I'll be right back... 15 minutes later. When casually asked "how many rooms do you have" the answer.. "enuf." And, oh, by the way, the dining room is closed for dinner; and breakfast is not included (it's a... More

We stayed at the cable-house during mid September and had a wonderful visit. The owner met and allowed us to check in despite the incredibly late hour that we arrived. He was also friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I found the room to be small and comfortable and the rest of the house to be neat and tidy.... More

arrived late but was greeted by a very friendly lady. Brought us straight to our room which was average and as expected. It was a big bed but was two single mattresses put together, which wasnt ideal. Breakfast was where it went wrong. I got the fry, which was grand, but the girlfriend got salmon and scrambled eggs. She said the... More

On our trip along much of the Wild Atlantic Way we were pleased with the high standards of accommodation in Ireland, but unfortunately The Old Cable Historic House did not live up to those standards. The house has its charms (like the dining room and the sitting room), but our room (which was clean) was kind of a dump: window... More

We are of course very disappointed to read your comments and our only consolation is that the delightful couple from Wexford you befriended during your stay with us have also reviewed us here at this forum even though their experience with us was quite the opposite to yours - we have to ask ourselves why ? You have taken a... More

Spent two nights and a wonderfully relaxing day in between in Waterville. Comfortable, friendly and charming hotel. Alan's sumptuous Irish breakfast set us up for the day! Would have loved to stay longer... Will definitely go back.

We stayed in room 10 for one night. The room had plenty of space and the bed and bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was quite spacious and modern. An open shower with great water pressure was well received. Our breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. Salmon and scrambled is not a usual option but I loved it. The only... More

We were met by a very friendly lady who made us very welcome. The hotel is in dire need of a face-lift. Our bed was uncomfortable and my wife chose to sleep on the floor instead. The restaurant has a painted concrete floor, trestle-like tables and zero ambience. The hotel could be nice but is in desperate need of some... More

Mrs brown very helpful and a really great host. The house has character and the room was Clean and acceptable. A good place to stay in Waterville was a bit disappointed at having to pay extra for breakfast even though it did say it on the booking with booking.com I had some crazy belief that a b&b was just that....
