We were just lucky to find this place at the last minute. It's right on the coast and next to a nice beach walk. A nice enough little hotel. Needs a little updating in parts. Nice enough furnishings and pleasant staff.

The view was AMAZING. The food was ok, not bad, but not great, an overpriced. The owner it's really friendly. So if you are nearby probably still a good shot (since everything around it's quite tourist too).

We were down in Waterville for the Charlie Chaplin festival & we chose this hotel for the good reviews and the description of it's location and proximity to the town. We had a fabulous stay despite the rainy days. We were welcomed by lovely friendly staff as soon as we walked through the front door. Our room was spacious and... More

Thank you Jennifer for your review of Smuggler's Inn. Glad to read that you had a fabulous stay, despite some rainy weather, during the course of the annual Charlie Chaplin Film Festival. We are a short distance from the local village of Waterville and sorry that you felt it was too dangerous for walking at night on the Cliff Road.... More

Came back this week after visiting last year and it didn't disappoint. Last year it was work (covering the Charlie Chaplin Festival for my newspaper) This year was purely leisure and pleasure. The room we had was the best in the house, we were told, and it certainly was lovely. The food was amazing as always, and the staff were... More

I stayed here the weekend of the 19/07/2013 and the weather and location were perfect. The room lets say was good but bathroom was very dated but I did see into rooms facing the sea and they looked of a better standard. So hopefully I will get one of these the next time I stay!! Both the bar staff and restaurant... More

My wife and I checked in on July 7th and reluctantly checked on July 11th. We had a very comfortable room overlooking the sea 100 mtrs away. All the staff were so friendly, knew their jobs so well and were very helpful to us including serving us breakfast outside every morning. As to the food, well it was "gourmet" and... More

Spent two nights here over the June Bank Holiday weekend and really enjoyed it. Location is lovely right on the beach and also well sign posted in the village. The Links Golf course is directly oppisite the B&B and you can watch the helicopters fly the VIP guests in, while relaxing in the beer garden! Hospitality speaks volumes in the... More

My wife and I spent an overnight night stay at the lovely Smugglers Inn, Waterville. The staff were very welcoming and friendly upon our arrival. The large double room was very clean and warm with a lovely view of the golf course and surrounding hills. Although an ocean view would have been a nicer, we were happy with the room... More
