I have stayed on and off at the Butler Arms for over 30 years now - traditionally going down in September for the fly fishing on lough Currane and upper loughs. Louise and family have taken excellent care of my dad, Michael and fly fishing guru Paddy every year with nothing but the best care and attention. The location, warm... More

I had the pleasure of holidaying in the area a number of times over the past few years and had occasion to dine in the Butler Arms conservatory, bar and cafe to my satisfaction. In my experience this hostelry is without fail the best and most affordable all round in the area. It’s frequented by locals and visitors to the... More

Louise, the owner/manager took very good care of our large family group. Whatever we needed she took care of. She even got my wife and I last-minute spots on a boat to the Skellig Islands. Their little coffee shop on the side street was handy as well. I liked all the Charlie Chaplin stuff as well.

Caught our our eye as we looked for unplanned overnight accommodation in Waterville. Suggested Executive upgrade was well worth it. Very spacious room, BIG bed, huge bathroom and what a view. Not many guests as about to go into off season closure. Dined in the restaurant and had great seafood platters (and we are accustomed to A1 Australian seafood). Traditional... More

Room clean and tidy, hotel could do with a lot of TLC, we had one meal in the restaurant which was very disappointing with the plates cold and the food being only warm. Breakfast great Staff very friendly.

We stopped by this hotel for a break during our tour of the Ring of Kerry. We didn't stay in a room so I can't rate the rooms, but we had tea and cookies. There was a large group of us and the staff were quick, patient, and very attentive. The hotel overlooks the shore and is just a couple... More

This hotel is rustic - I guess that's a nice way of putting it. It is, however, the nicest hotel in the Waterville area, and if driving the Ring of Kerry I recommend staying a night in this nice Town to break the tour into 2 days. The hotel is clean, but our beds were small and not too comfortable.... More

The Butler Arms is a traditional hotel and has a lovely location on the seafront. We were able to hear the sea from our room window which was lovely! We ate in the bar which has excellent seafood and breakfast was also good. The only disappointing part about our stay is that we have bicycle rental details in their guest... More

Classic hotel, try and get an executive upgrade room for a real treat. Best people and service we found in all of Ireland. They even met our car in the parking lot after we checked in just to make sure we found our room. Food is great and breakfast awesome. Oceanfront location is great. They have private parking for guests... More

The hotel staff are very friendly, location overlooking the sea was terrific. Limited menu if you dont eat fish, and a little pricey, however the lovely waitress offered us the bar menu which had a few more choices and served to us in restaurant. It was a bit more dated than i thought for a 4 star, tv in room... More
