I am kind of a posh snob. (See my home above need I say more). I was all set for a wild St. Pat's weekend, but was too rattled to stay in Dublin after being kept awake all night by drunk Italians next to us ( as the ft desk of our hotel told us upon check out who was... More

Nothing but positives all around here: beautiful home; a warm, genuine, and very competent host; excellent attention to detail; and spacious, well appointed rooms. In no time Helen's welcome made us feel like a member of the family. An amazing experience. I can't thank you enough, Helen-- I'm so very glad to have met you!

I stayed one night at St. Ruth's with my aunt, sister and cousins. We had a fantastic time. The weather was cold and it had been raining. On arrival we were greeted with homemade delicious apple pie and cream. The fire was roaring in the hearth. All in all we were made to feel very welcome Helen our hostess I... More

We had the luck of the Irish in finding our way to St. Ruth's Farmhouse and it's lovely hostess/owner, Helen. Our accommodations were lovingly decorated, the house and garden delightful, and Helen's homemade rhubarb pie to die for. We hated to say good bye.

We only stayed here for one night but it was absolutely likely. We were greeted by Helen with Apple pie and fresh cream from the farm. The room was lovely and the breakfast was fabulous. Absolutely lovely b&b, we will visit again I'm sure.

Helen's home and gardens are like something you'd see on PBS/BBC - tidy, homey, comfortable. Helen is a gracious hostess. Our room was a nice size with a nice sized bathroom. The food was good, and Helen was very accomodating.

This is a beautiful farm hose located in near Athlone. Helen was a delight and made us feel right at home. The beds and room where extremely comfortable and the heated blanket was a plus. Love this B&B and hope to get back there someday. I would recommend to everyone!

We stayed on Sept. 18 and it was a very nice experience. Helen made us right at home and since we had arrived around tea time, served us tea and her home-made rhubarb pie in front of the peat-fired fireplace. Our room upstairs, # 3, was fine with a great view of the pasture and cows across the road. We... More

St Ruth's B&B is set in beautiful manicured grounds adjacent to a working farm. The interior is as perfect as the garden and exactly what you would expect a traditional farmhouse to be. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable with modern spotless ensuite shower-rooms. The beds were very comfortable and dressed with good quality linen. But as mentioned in... More
