Lovely welcome from Tony and his sister. Very attractive room at the back of the hotel (the Long loft room), very quiet. Continental but good breakfast in a comfortable room, which invites you to stay for a chat with other visitors. Location in town is perfect, parking is easy, restaurants and pubs at your door. No hesitation.

Stayed for a night and enjoyed the eclectic b&b. Room was nice and owner Anthony very friendly and helpful. Great location! Cannot be more central in Athlone. Try the good Lebanese restaurant next to the b&b.

Our host seemed genuinely nice and friendly, and wanted to make sure we were all set to have a good time. The long loft room was very spacious for my son and I, though a bit stuffy, and there was a step up and back down between the beds and bathroom that despite warning, was hazardous in the middle of... Location is ideal as it is close proximity to the town centre and is close to everything. The B&B itself is lovely and spacious the rooms are lovely and is also quiet. Would definitely stay there again

We stayed here for 1 night and would certainly stay again. The rooms are basic, comfortable and very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent with some of the best bars and restaurants right on the door step. We look forward to our next visit.

Take a look at the photos of Bastion on the website - it's a breath of fresh air! We stayed in the loft room which was full of plants, windows, and eclectic artwork. The beds were comfortable and the room clean, with a reasonable rate even with the drama festival in town (by coincidence). Although there was not hot breakfast,... More

My daughter and I found this place on line before our September trip a couple of years ago and I always meant to review it, as it so deserves a good one. I called Anthony from the US to ask a few questions about driving from Dublin to Athlon and he was very helpful. I just cannot imagine anybody not... More

Myself and two friends stayed in the loft room with un suite on the weekend. I loved the room it was so cosy, clean and peaceful. No tv which suited me. We went to a Thai restaurant literally a stones throw away kin khao which was lovely then to various pubs and clubs athlone has to offer. We walked everywhere,... More

Lovely clean friendly place. Perfect location, near great pubs . Lots of cool decor to look at . Bed was clean and comfortable. Only problem is that the shower/toilet is downstairs ,but that was also very clean . Overall it was a pleasant stay . Would recommend to anyone .
