Stayed here for the folk fest, there were four of us and we got a room for six and had it all to ourselves which was great and it had an ensuite. The shower is terrible in it but it did the job for two nights. The girl on reception was lovely and helpful and we all paid by card... More

After cycling from Kinvara to Lisdoonvarna, we were greeted with some lovely staff members who showed us our room. There was only 3 of us, but we had a 6 bed room to ourselves which was lovely, spacious and bright. The only downside, the bathroom. It was VERY small and the shower pressure and temperature wasn't great. However, we ate... More

Dear Darren Thank you for your positive review. That was a superb cycle - sorry about the temperature of the showers - sometimes if a lot of guests are showering at the same time, this may happen - sincere apologies. I was unaware of the pressure being weak. Sorry. Yes the pub is great and so close - no driving... More

This hostel is definitely above the normal standard of a YHA. We had a double room with lots of space, a big double bed and a private, comfortable bathroom. The facilities were clean and also beautifully and well equipped. A nice feature was the TV-/sitting-room with a fireplace and comfortable furniture. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast... More

Vielen Dank for this superb review!! I have passed your lovely comments onto our team here. Yes - I agree with you the rooms are definitely more spacious. Some of the furniture is inherited from the hotel times here so it is good quality and .extremely comfortable. I only buy real orange juice. Thank you and maybe see you again... More

Burren Hostel is a beautiful stay to see the gorgeous countryside of Ireland Located just off the main street from Lisdoonvarna, a quaint small town filled w/ traditional Irish music and fresh pints of Guiness. Having arrived with no plans or information, the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming and give good tips on where to go in the region.... More

Thanks Patricia for your really positive review. We are so lucky to be situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Ireland with so much to see & do and possibly the best spot in Ireland for "Trad" - Traditional Irish Music. I have passed your kind comments onto our team of great staff here. Thrilled you had a... More

If you like lots of activity and noise, and banging doors into the middle of the night, this is the place for you. Personally, I like my sleep, and there are several reasons that sleep was not to be had at this hostel. It appears none of the doors (and there are many doors) has a stop mechanism, causing them... Dear Jackie Thank you for taking the time to review our hostel and for your nice comments about the wonderful trad music in the area and our staff, who work extremely hard to keep the standards that you will see in other reviews about our hostel. I was dissappointed to read the rest of your review and hopefully I can... More

Our three-night experience at the Burren Hostel was great from beginning to end. The friendly and helpful staff did what they could to accommodate us and set the tone for a relaxing and welcoming stay. The dining room was comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and the facilities reasonably clean. Our kids enjoyed playing with other children on the massive lawn out... More

Thanks Boar13 for your super review - really appreciate it and it was a pure pleasure having you and your family stay here. We still talk about the fun the kids had that weekend - amazing how they don't need to have the same language to have fun. Hope you got some relaxation for yourselves!! The Kitchen is only new... My husband and I were traveling together on this trip and decided to stay in a couple of hostels for the low prices. This was a pleasant surprise! The place used to be a hotel and was remodeled to be a hostel. There was a bar, a giant living room, and a couple of other common areas. The staff was... More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review which I have passed onto our team. I agree that it is great value for money here. We are not a typical back packer hostel as we used to be a hotel and the gardens make it special. I hope you will "definitely come back" - you will be very welcome to... More

Stayed here two nights in mid May. Very clean, very friendly staff, hot showers, a better than average breakfast, decent Wi-Fi, quiet, and a pool table. Just a short walk from a great Irish pub and a few wonderful restaurants. Perfect compliment to our tour of the cliffs in nearby Doolin. But don't let the beautiful Irish redhead at the... More

As a family with young children we had an excellent stay at the Burren Hostel. Comfortable room with private bathroom. The kitchen was great and very well equipped for making your own dinner. Aveen, the cheerful hostess of the Burren Hostel gave us some great tips where to go. Thanks for the pleasant stay and we will definitely come again!

Having taken a deep breath, it is time to share some superlatives. It all starts with a warm welcome from the reception staff. You get a feeling of home almost immediately.
