The festival was in full swing when we arrived at the "Castle" and we were a bit worried about being stuck out in the sticks, but taxis were easy to get and quickly arrived to take us into town for a night of fun and games. Slept like a dream and had a hot breakfast even though we only stumbled... More

Travelling solo with a bus tour. This was an interesting hotel. The decor and building made you feel you were in a cottage/castle. Room was clean and the bathroom was big. Was shocked by the glass bathroom door, a little worried if some one walked in or my room mate came back, you could see right through. I was feeling... More

This hotel is absolutely fine. However, it is in the middle of nowhere and maybe a 20 minute walk from lisdoonvarna. The bar in the hotel is a soulless square room. There was a guy singing there one of the nights we were there and he was singing to himself. We felt sorry for the management as they were trying... More

Stayed here during the matchmaking festival for two nights as I find the centre of town to be too expensive. Having stayed here before a few years ago I was very happy to see a few of the old staff still working here and it is always a nice feeling to be remembered. Was given a warm welcome,a nice clean... I chose to bring my partner here for a romantic night away in the Burren. The staff are very friendly but you can tell that this is a hotel that caters almost entirely for american bus tours. There was no atmosphere in either the restaurant or the bar and would suggest if you are staying here to take a taxi... More

Stayed for four nights with Arvonia Tours that we were given as a gift. We have not been to Ireland before but what a beautiful time we had. We would love to come back again but this time to the South. Hotel was lovely, staff excellent, food good and nightly entertainment amusing. Found that the staff really could not do... More

When we approached the hotel we found it to be isolated and not close to Lisdoonvarna as we thought. It was in need of updating, but we found it very clean and the staff of which there was few very helpful and soon responded to our needs. New kettles in the rooms are needed, also to remember that not all... More

Yes its an old-ISH hotel and yes it was pretty isolated - isolated from heavy traffic and external revellers. We were part of a coach party so the isolation was not an issue. There were two other coaches there from across the channel so it was pretty full. However the staff managed admirably the mealtimes were staggered between the parties... More

Here for two nights in August and thoroughly enjoyed. Location easy to find and handy for the area's attractions. Rooms clean and tidy and suiting the building.Highlight would be the service in the restaurant from the ever present, charming Richard.Entertainment in the bar from Pat was also very good.Only downside would be the lack of a breakfast buffet.

Only stayed one night after my experience at another hotel got too much for me. Room was not up to much and I only had a portable television, but everybody I encountered was very friendly and the service gets them two points extra. A relief after a trying few days.
