We arrived late having just got off the plane from Australia and driven straight here from Dublin. Our waitress was very attentive and helped us with our choices. The carrot and coriander soup was perfect and the ciabatta was well presented and crispy. We only ate here so I cannot comment on the rooms, but the cafe here is very... More

This hotel was built in the 1800s and you feel the charm. It is fresh and well kept, but the styling and decor make you feel like you're in some BBC period drama. Our room was an adequate size, the bathroom was spacious with a full size tub and shower. Breakfast was nice, staff was helpful. There is no elevator,... More

Whilst staying at another hotel in Lisdoonvarna that only catered for Bed, Breakfast & Evening Meal my wife and I were looking for a place in the town for lunch, having chosen this Cafe at the front of The Royal Spa Hotel we were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to a table. The lunch menu was fairly comprehensive... More

I had booked multiple rooms (4 in total) in this hotel for an overnight stay during the May Bank Holiday weekend through one of the hotel booking websites. The booking was confirmed and paid for in full. Not long before going on our stay, I received a phone call from the owner of the hotel informing me that they cancelled... More

Great hotel, busy at night, but food a bit pricey -€13 for a bowl of stew. There is no cash machine in Lisdoonvarna so bring your cash , the nearest is in Ennistymon so if no car you've had it. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Get your car into the car park early, it can get a bit tight !!... More

We stayed here on a Saturday night, the pub accros the road had live irish music and was the perfect way to spend a night in Lisdonvarna. The hotelier was friendly and nothing was too much bother. The breakfast was great and I would love to come back. The bathrooms could do with updating but thats if I had to... More

We had a very nice stay at the Royal Spa in Lisdoonvarna, County Clare. The hotel was everything we expected: clean, well located and friendly. Truth be told, we spent most of the evening in Doolin listening to music (very close), but staying in Lisdoonvarna was very convenient. When we checked out, I left 2 shirts in the closet. The... We stayed for a couple of nights, the hotel was in a good location and rooms were clean and tidy. The service we received both on arrival and departure was terrible. The breakfast was only ok. The food in the restaurant is way over priced for what you get. Overall is was a bad experience and will not be returning... More

I wish I would have known more about Lisdoonvarna when I was planning this trip. The Royal Spa was nice and clean, it is in the middle of town, so the location is great. After spending just a short time here I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back someday.

On a street jam-packed with B&Bs and hotels, I can't help but think we could have done better than this. The rooms are quite large but they've seen better days. Our bathtub looked like it had been kicked in and though it was generally clean, the overall feeling of the place was that it was a bit past its time.... More
