My wife and I stayed two nights. An old manor house with considerable charm. About 4 miles down narrow country road from the small town of Oughterard. Room was good size, decorated simply, bed comfortable. Best feature were the exceptional dinners - best we had in Ireland. We only intended to have one but it was so good we had... More

I think this has to be one of my most memorable stays in a hotel. This place just on the outskirts of Oughterard is a typical anglo/irish stately home right on the lapping shoreline of the Corrib. Surrounded with a beautiful garden, the air of a smouldering turf fire and the occasional bark of a chocolate Labrador who'll beg you... More

Just back from our first visit to Currarevagh House. What an absolute find. Myself & husband with 2 friends (by accident) had such an absolutely lovely time. What an amazing experience. Excellent accommodation, fantastic food and looked after by lovely Henry, what more could you say? will be back again, again and again....

If you want to relax, eat well and enjoy a spot of fishing in amusing company, head for this magical hotel. The welcome is warm and caring by a family dedicated to making sure you want for nothing, especially delicious food! We spent our 30th anniversary here last week, after too-long an absence from Currarevagh. What struck us is the... More

Back for my fourth visit to this most hospitable, family run hotel gem. Lovely food, especially the breakfast sausages and the afternoon cake, often made by Henry the host. Great picnics to take onto the fishing boat trips, landing on one of the many islands on the loch to light a fire and boil the kettlle - very Enid Blyton!... More

Currarevagh is truly unique. It has been run as a guest house for more than 100 years by the same family who also built the house. You are looked after with friendly, kind service. The Edwardian breakfast in May is great. The picnics, eaten on islands in the lake, are wonderful. Dinner is basically one set menu but if there's... More

We arrived on Friday the 22nd of May to this house. We were met by Henry the manager and front of house man. We were shown to our room which has a wonderful view of lough corrib (shown below). The room was very large and a had some gorgeous furnishings and a very comfy bed. We went for a walk... More

My wife and I have just returned from a weeklong vacation in Ireland. Thinking about the three wonderful places we stayed, we agree that Currarevagh House was the highlight of our trip. Set on a peaceful and absolutely beautiful 150 acres, the lake and mountain views are spectacular and there are marvelous walking paths through the woods along the lakeshore.... More

Stayed in Currarevagh recently with my wife, brother in law and his wife and we all agreed it was one of the most enjoyable weekends we'd had in along time. From the moment you enter the gates and drive up the long drive to when you put down your knife and fork after the super breakfast on Sunday morning, it... More

First went 24 years ago for our honeymoon and thought it was great. Returned ten years later and thoroughly enjoyed. Returned this year with our teenage kids and they loved it too. Take out a boat and tour the islands. Very accommodating and pleasant. Great food. Worth it.
