We stayed two nights at the Currarevagh House and wished we could have stayed longer but they were fully booked. We loved our stay. The house is charming with a real Downton Abbey type of atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed and they made sure that we had a lake view room as requested. Please make sure to have dinner there... More

This charming old country house is set on beautiful grounds. The home has been owned by the same family for many generations and has been welcoming guests since 1880. Henry, the current owner, is a wonderful host. His wife is the chef, and the afternoon tea (included), breakfast (included) and dinner (optional but highly recommended) were among the best we enjoyed... More

This place is tucked away off the lake in a quiet and secluded area. The staff is very welcoming, helpful and professional and take pride in running their country house. The room we stayed in was comfortable and the dinner was very good. It has a feel of belonging to a different time, yet with all the amenities of the... More

Going to Currarevagh House is like taking a step back in time. Old house, old furniture, old décor, afternoon tea and cakes , dinner time signalled by a gong and after-dinner conversation in front of an open fire. But jacket and tie not mandatory! It is a charming place at which to arrive and you are made welcome by June... More

This place is a small gem. The location of Lough Corrib is peaceful, beautiful and genteel. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and not cookie-cutter variety at all. The sitting rooms are very well appointed. The peat fireplaces are as attractive as you can imagine. Fishing, horse riding, walking, etc. Nice landscapes and beautiful views in Connemara. Excellent food. No unusual... More

We recently spent 2 nights at the delightful Currarevagh and were enchanted by the amazing setting, warm welcome and informal, relaxed atmosphere at the house. Service was extremely professional and food was simply devine. We travelled with 2 dogs and the grounds provided great opportunity for adventure and entertainment with beautiful lakeside and forest walks. Couldn't recommend enough for complete... More

We spent three nights at Currarevagh House and left after a substantial breakfast kindly composed for us so we could make an early departure. Fueled by coffee and brilliant sunshine, we took to the road feeling as though we were leaving the home of gracious and attentive friends. Although we would prefer to keep this haven secret and immutable, we... More

We are just back from a two night stay and we couldn't recommend enough. Extremely relaxing stay, with amazing views, food and friendly people. We went fishing on lough Corrib with a local fishing man named John who was organised through the hotel and caught 3 beautiful brown trout. It was a really great experience and would definitely recommend. We... More

We felt like we had stepped back in time and become part of the 'gentry' during our blissful stay at Currarevagh. The beautiful, huge, rambling and stately house full of character felt intimate, warm and welcoming because of our friendly hosts, Henry and his family, including his mum. Our room was magnificent as was the view across the Loch. Henry... More
