We spent three nights at Currarevagh House and left after a substantial breakfast kindly composed for us so we could make an early departure. Fueled by coffee and brilliant sunshine, we took to the road feeling as though we were leaving the home of gracious and attentive friends. Although we would prefer to keep this haven secret and immutable, we... More

We are just back from a two night stay and we couldn't recommend enough. Extremely relaxing stay, with amazing views, food and friendly people. We went fishing on lough Corrib with a local fishing man named John who was organised through the hotel and caught 3 beautiful brown trout. It was a really great experience and would definitely recommend. We... More

We felt like we had stepped back in time and become part of the 'gentry' during our blissful stay at Currarevagh. The beautiful, huge, rambling and stately house full of character felt intimate, warm and welcoming because of our friendly hosts, Henry and his family, including his mum. Our room was magnificent as was the view across the Loch. Henry... More

Stayed here in July with my family of 8( 5 adults ;3 children ages 9 and 11).We stayed in Dublin,Cork and Killarney before Currarevagh and none can compare to the service, food and gentleness of Currarevagh. Even Mille, the ever present Lab was a joy. The kids actually cried the night before we left because they did not want to... More

Comfortable, casual elegance in a lovely location. It is off the beaten path, but close enough for day trips to nearby sites...or you can simply enjoy the quiet, make yourself at home in the comfy lounges, do a bit of fishing or walking on the grounds, and, by all means, enjoy teatime. Dinners and breakfasts were superb. Rooms are spacious,... More

Fabulous venue for a relaxing get away. Beautiful views in this stunning location. The staff could not have been more helpful. Stayed here the night before my wedding with my immediate family. The food was incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel, I will definitely be back.

As so many other visitors have commented, this hotel is unique. The location is breathtaking with its view across Lough Corrib. We have never stayed anywhere so quiet and where we've slept so well. The food is fantastic - local ingredients cooked with real flair. Best of all is the welcome. It could not have been more friendly. We loved... More

Currarevagh does not disappoint. We wanted a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and we got it. Currarevagh sells itself on not being a hotel more so a private country house, it matches up. It's a quiet peaceful retreat on Lough Corrib, Central for lovely walks, fishing and the beautiful Connemara countryside. The Hodgson family are gracious and professional... More

You only have to read the previous reviews to discover that this place is very special. It's not the sort of place to stay if you like plush, ultramodern hotels. It almost feels like you are in your own home. We had a lovely welcome from Henry who runs the house with his wife Lucy, who is the chef, and... More
