As so many other visitors have commented, this hotel is unique. The location is breathtaking with its view across Lough Corrib. We have never stayed anywhere so quiet and where we've slept so well. The food is fantastic - local ingredients cooked with real flair. Best of all is the welcome. It could not have been more friendly. We loved... More

Currarevagh does not disappoint. We wanted a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and we got it. Currarevagh sells itself on not being a hotel more so a private country house, it matches up. It's a quiet peaceful retreat on Lough Corrib, Central for lovely walks, fishing and the beautiful Connemara countryside. The Hodgson family are gracious and professional... More

You only have to read the previous reviews to discover that this place is very special. It's not the sort of place to stay if you like plush, ultramodern hotels. It almost feels like you are in your own home. We had a lovely welcome from Henry who runs the house with his wife Lucy, who is the chef, and... More

Stop looking and just stay here. If however, you are looking for a corporate, business hotel then this is not for you. Currarevagh is a guest house with the kind of service, charm and genuine care for your stay that you will remember for years to come. Its the kind of place you are nostalgic for - as if from... More

This is a splendid place offering wonderful hospitality in a friendly and efficient country house style. The property has been in the family for over 150 years and it is a great credit to the current and recent generations that the house remains a great place to get away for a relaxing break. The food is terrific, be it the... More

If you are looking for exceptional informal hospitality and a sense of timeliness in extraordinarily beautiful and peaceful surroundings this is the place to stay. A stay at Currarevagh is like going to stay with good friends, whose first concern is with your comfort and well being. If you are looking for fawning attention forget it. Almost as soon as... More

Henry and Lucy, who run Currarevagh, could not have been more welcoming. This boutique hotel exudes class and old-world style, all the while setting you at complete ease. Our room had one of the best views possible, looking out over islands, trees, and Lough Corrib from a lofty vantage point. It was spacious and extremely comfortable. The grounds are also... More

Stayed in this idyllic getaway Easter 2014, and was not disappointed. Being a family run business, the personal touch is very much evident from the moment you arrive. Henry's warm welcome with offers of afternoon tea were perfect after a drive from Dublin. Later that evening, we were treated to an amazing dinner using good quality local produce. Afterwards, tea/coffee... More

Visited in September 2013 and fell in love with Curraveagh.. Afternoon tea, gong before dinner, genuine family atmosphere, lovely organic food. The place is old, lived in and might not be everyones cup of tea with its old fashioned beds and blankets. But I loved it.. Bed, blankets, chintzy cups are retro and a step back in time to another...
