Henry, Lucy and June have perfected Irish hospitality. They are incredibly personable, yet non intrusive. They cater to the guest's every need. The food is BEYONE 5 star! Though the rooms are a bit dated, they are extremely comfortable, quiet and private. The setting is not-to-be-believed idyllic. The nearby town of Oughterard has everything a guest could want without being... More

We traveled for two weeks in Ireland and loved our time in this wonderful country. The people, food and music were amazing. However, the highlight of our trip was the three nights we spent at Currarevagh House. Henry welcomed us to his family's historic home which is full of elegant, old-world charm. The rooms are beautiful with great views. The... More

Staying at Currarevagh House is like stepping back to a more gracious, slower time in history. I don't suggest it for families, but for couples it is lovely. The location allows you to do as much or as little as you'd like in an unhurried fashion. You can visit the sights on the island, fish, take long walks or just... More

After an absence of nine years we returned in June to the Currarevagh House, a bastion of civility in a setting of unsurpassed natural beauty. Henry is the consummate host, and Lucy a fine chef who prepares beautiful and imaginative meals. Henry stands ready to help in any way. He wrapped and mailed a sheep skull that my son found... More

This is a wonderful country house which feels a little frozen in another age - in all the best ways. A warm welcome and personal service await you. Henry is a mine of information about what to do locally. The food was fabulous- Breakfasts amazing with a wonderful array on the sideboard and then cooked to order hot food -... More

My wife and I stayed two nights. An old manor house with considerable charm. About 4 miles down narrow country road from the small town of Oughterard. Room was good size, decorated simply, bed comfortable. Best feature were the exceptional dinners - best we had in Ireland. We only intended to have one but it was so good we had... More

I think this has to be one of my most memorable stays in a hotel. This place just on the outskirts of Oughterard is a typical anglo/irish stately home right on the lapping shoreline of the Corrib. Surrounded with a beautiful garden, the air of a smouldering turf fire and the occasional bark of a chocolate Labrador who'll beg you... More

If you want to relax, eat well and enjoy a spot of fishing in amusing company, head for this magical hotel. The welcome is warm and caring by a family dedicated to making sure you want for nothing, especially delicious food! We spent our 30th anniversary here last week, after too-long an absence from Currarevagh. What struck us is the... More
