I travel to Dublin quite a lot and I got tired and fed up with the Hotels in central Dublin. I found this gem by chance as I wanted to eat at a fish restaurant. I began dining there and travelling from the town centre so good was the food. I then realised that not only did they have a... More

Let Joan and Aidan MacmManus welcome you to Howth, a precious seaside town 20 minutes and a world away from Dublin. Listen to the Irish Sea outside your window, walk around town in rain or shine, admire the fishmongers' displays on the West Pier, come home to East, the cafe in the inn, and sit by the fire with tea... I love the family-ness of this place. The owners are very hands-on and quite friendly. I would consider it more of a B&B scene, truly, as opposed to a hotel. Nothing fancy, but quite lovely. We got there after a long tour around Ireland...we needed rest...and that is what we got. I enjoy photography...so I walked about the lovely pier... More

I had really high expectations about my visit here but I was totally underwhelmed by the experience, The room was very ordinary, and the bedding was tatty and outdated not at all what I expected, So all in all it was a less than satisfactory experience, My advice.......... look elsewhere there is better value for money at other locations

Always wanted to stay up in Howth, my parents live in Sutton which is down the road but kind of worlds away...waking up to the unimpeded view of the pier and Ireland's Eye was just unbeatable and exactly what we wanted. Having arrived much later than expected due to flight delays, we had to disturb the owner's son at home... More

Poor atmosphere, starter was very poor and missing an ingredient which was listed as part of it, main course was tasteless, chewy seafood and the worst veg and potatoes I have ever had, no taste whatsoever, bar food would have been better. don't know what happened to this place but it really has gone down hill. Standard of service extremely... More

The King Sitric is a lovely hotel. The rooms are really comfortable and the ones on the first floor have a wonderful view. The breakfast is fantastic and includes really fresh fruit & homemade jams & marmalades. Nothing is too much trouble for Joan. She even drove us up to the church for the service as my father is not... More

The King Stiric is located at the end of the peninsula that is Howth; the town itself is on the outskirts of Dublin (very easy to get to from the airport and a great place to start or end your trip). The King Sitric really is more of a restaurant with 8 rooms, and the main focus is on the... More

My daughter and I stayed at the King Sitric for 5 nights, it was a surprise visit to see my sister who lives in Howth, we originally planned to stay in Dublin city as the King Sitric was fully booked due to the Garth Brooks concert, well Garth's concert was cancelled and Joan kept in touch to let us know... Our family really enjoyed the personal service we received from Joan. She made sure we were comfortable in our rooms, checked in with us to see if we wanted anything in particular for breakfast, and gave our taxi driver specific directions on the fastest route to the airport based on the time of day. She truly wanted us to have... More
