In the 4 weeks in Ireland, this was the coldest room we stayed in. The heat was turned on about 2 hrs in the early evening. There were a few very old antiques in the room. Our room had a very large nice bathroom.A bit pricey for a older b+ b that needed to be remodeled Parking was adequate.2 km from downtown no... We have recently spent 4 nights at the Highfield B&B. I will try to be as fair as possible so: The good's: it is run by a lovely welcoming couple. The house is old and could potentially be amazing. Location is ok, 20 mins far from Howth village. The bad's: very old and rundown structure, the bedrooms are extremely smelly... More

For the third time in the last five years we stayed in Highfield for a few days. We enjoyed a comfortable room en suite overlooking the garden, with a distant view over the bay, great Irish breakfasts and, last but not least, Margaret's and Michael's warm hospitality (and sense of humour!). We think the location is ideal: - 6 minutes... More

We called in here for 1 night in late May, without booking and were shown to a back facing double room with no view and a serious lack of heating! Our room was very small and dreary with old worn bed linen and a sagging old mattress. It is just not acceptable in 2014! The house had some lovely and... More

We arrived tired after travellng, having booked an en suite room for three nights When shown our room it was not en suite. He told us that a mistake had been made and seemed to think that it was not his fault. He offered to give us an en suite room for the following night. We reluctantly agreed to stay... More

I am an Englishman living in Spain and my wife & I fancied a break from the sun in fun filled Dublin. We left Dublin for a few days outside of the city centre and ended up in the perfect village of Howth, just a short train ride away. Mick & Margaret were our hosts and were very hospitable. We... Nice little B&B situated half way up the hill. Large en suite room, with TV, big window, but at the back so no view. Off the road private parking. The room was a double and included cooked breakfast for 70 Euro. Nice friendly breakfast room, as you share the table with the other guests too. Bus stop right outside of... More
