You really get what you pay for with this B&B. Positives are It is in a great location, provided a really excellent cooked breakfast and had adequate facilities. Negatives; - Very poor mattress - No window in room other than a sky light with no blind - Paper thin walls and creaky floors which meant I was woken every time... More

Host Sean is very welcoming. He offered us tea and biscuits on our arrival and made us popcorns when we watched films in the guest playroom. We were also provided with a full Irish breakfast, with bacon, eggs, toast, sausage and black pudding. The triple room is clean and organized, with a moderate size bathroom which has everything. The house... More

I stayed here for 10 days. Met various of Sean's family members who were very kind and helpful. Had a lovely breakfast each morning which I'm missing terribly back home. Will stay here again if I have the opportunity to ever visit Howth again. After 10 days I finally figured out how to pronounce Howth! - Hoath! :-)

Stayed here for 2 nights, the actual BB needs attention to bring it up to date and also the first breakfast was served with a hair. The guy has longish hair which should not be lose while making people's breakfast, either cut it or tie it back... we will not loom to stay here again

We stayed here for 2 nights, needs a little love & attention but as somewhere to lay your head I couldn't really complain. Sean is friendly & welcoming and nothing is a problem. However after phoning to confirm before leaving home, when we got there he had mixed up the nights for the booking, luckily he had one room, although... More

Without a doubt Sean is very welcoming and nice person but the room I was given not so much. The en-suite was absolutely tiny and the water in the shower wouldn't drain. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room wasn't very clean.

There is internet there but not working. Warm people, good breakfast. But breakfast starts a kind of late 7:30 which is not good enough if you need to be in Dublin by 9. A kind of far from everything. Even local taxi drivers are struggling to find it.

Staying at Gleann-na-Smol with Sean (Valley of the songbird) is like staying with your crazy uncle. He's totally fun & helpful in his own crazy way and he also has some great stories and will treat you like family, but the house and rooms could use some updating and cleaning. There are not a lot of options in Howth (pronounced... More

This B&B is expensive and very bad value. It is not clean and there are bad odours throughout the house. The shower tray didn't drain, the furniture is thread bare and stained, the towels are beyond old. The sausages were barely cooked and the eggs were swimming in grease - I could go on! The only positive I could see... More

Four of us (My wife, my son and my sister) stayed here for two nights while we attended a wedding. The host (Sean) was extremely welcoming and kind. Breakfast was fulsome, and Sean even gave us a lift to a nearby station when we left.
