The welcome is everything what you could hope for... and what's more the house is warm with a fire on in the stove and a few basics in the fridge and cupboards. If you want to get away from it all while being close to the motorway (a few km) and Kilkenny, it's a good choice. The Nore River is... More

Very pleased with the accommodation. Mary is a wonderful host. The house is very clean and comfortable. So nice to have basic supplies in the fridge when we arrived and the homemade loaf was delicious. The setting is so peaceful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, convenient place to stay.

arrived early Sept for a short visit-as always, Mary was welcoming. The accomodation is still excellent, with linen as new and spotlessly clean. The grounds are well kept and there is an addition of new fencing and table with 4 chairs since my visit summer 2011-the setting is so peaceful, nestled among fields yet so close to local amenities(approx 1 mile). The shops and... Stayed here with my husband and two other adults and could not have asked for a better experience. Mary O'Connell and family were absolutely lovely and accommodating, even though we arrived much later in the evening than we had planned, and greeted us homemade tea cakes/buns that didn't make it past two hours! Just a really love home, feels very... More

A very pleasant stay in a quiet location in the heart of the countryside, within walking distance of the river Nore, and surrounded by cattle with the sound of milking in the morning. Our hostess Mary O’Connell was a gem who made the best scrambled eggs I ever tasted with smoked salmon (or you could have a full Irish breakfast).... More

We stayed at one of the self catering apartments in Oct. and it was great. We have stayed in many self catering units over the past few years and this was one of the best. We didn't need the second bedroom or bathroom, but if you do it's there. The apartment is part of a duplex, but is arranged so... More

Nice quiet spot to relax after a very busy day. Full Irish breakfast is the only way to start the day. Comfortable lounge and Mary is a delightful hostess.

This is a true working farm. Our girls enjoyed meeting the cows and calves, and seeing milking. The host was very pleasant. Breakfast, especially the coffee was very good!
