I had a horrible experience with this hostel, the room was dirty and the walls full of spiders and many other insects. The bed unstable and unsafe with broken pieces of iron. Luckily I just spent one night in this place.

The hostel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from the harbour. The smell of damp dog greeted us as we arrived, although we did meet the friendly dogs the following morning and they were lovely. The room was small and reasonably clean except for a flock of moths on the ceiling. An ok hostel in a... More

I stayed in the hostel in Baltimore lately.I found it perfect for my purposes. Its for sale and could do with a bit of T.L.C. But if not too particular it's fine. Rooms were clean. Kitchen could do with a microwave. Outside yard could do with a sweep.

It`s a while since I stayed here, I was supposed to of been working on Sherkin island at the marine station, but after the very Irish (thick doesn`t cover it) owner wanted me away, so I came here. Must be the best view, except from my tent, anywhere in the British Isles. The staff were friendly. I did a camp... More

Great place to stay, beautiful location, lovely host. I thoroughly recommend visiting Baltimore, an authentic Irish coastal getaway just a 20 minute boat journey to Sherkin. The hostel itself is pleasantly presented with the kitchen opening onto a very nice patio area.

I spent a couple of nights at the Top of the Hill hostel and found it to be excellent. Hildegard is a very warm, friendly person and you will get a good welcome. The rooms are very nice and good value. There is a large well equipped kitchen and the coop is just a short work down the hill at the... More

We had a lovely stay in this hostel when we went to Baltimore. We arrived in the evening and I called beforehand to check if they have rooms available. Even though they already rented out the double room that we asked for the owner prepared a double bed in a dorm for me and my boyfriend and we had the... More

Hil and Thorsten are lovely, friendly owners and made us feel very welcome. There were 3 beautiful dogs. The beds were comfortable. Showers were clean and there was plenty of hot water. The hostel was cleaned every day. Baltimore is a great place to visit.

I read some of the negative reviews for this hostel and can't believe how off putting they are. I just returned from an unexpected trip to Baltimore with my daughter, It was originally intended to be a day trip but we ended up staying for four days as we loved this hotel so much.Top of the Hill hostel is very...
