I've backpacked for years so all I expect from a hostel is for it to be clean, even if its basic. Slept in the 10 bed dorm for 2 nights. It was fine. The issue with this hostel is that there is only 1 ladies toilet upstairs where all the bedrooms are. There is a wheelchair unisex bathroom downstairs with... More

I just stayed at the this hostel due to a random rainy night making me lazy to drive home and it was spotless, boringly clean, well run with a sweet German from Hamburg IN CHARGE! (feel safe) Nice energy, nice garden, easy parking, big kitchen, no wait for a loo. label your food or leave it for others! THIN walls... More

I stayed here recently. The place is just plain and simple unclean. My bed clothes were not washed - and that is for sure. I should have taken photos. The kitchen is so unclean that I would not be able to eat there. The bathrooms "look" clean but the smell is awful - maybe they wash with water but no... More

The hostel itself it absolutely fine - location, cleanness, facilities - good value for money. We would've loved our stay unless the nightmare that is allowed there at night. What was happening during the night was just _insane_. There was a group of young Spanish people who behaved absolutely crazy loud - drinking, shouting, "having fun" etc. It was clear... More

I enjoyed my stay at the Top of the Hill hostel a lot. As I arrived Hildegard, the owner, welcomed me very friendly, showed me around the hostel and introduced me to the other guests. She lives in the hostel herself, and has a cat that likes to cuddle and three friendly dogs. I appreciated to have many interesting conversations... More

I had a horrible experience with this hostel, the room was dirty and the walls full of spiders and many other insects. The bed unstable and unsafe with broken pieces of iron. Luckily I just spent one night in this place.

The hostel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from the harbour. The smell of damp dog greeted us as we arrived, although we did meet the friendly dogs the following morning and they were lovely. The room was small and reasonably clean except for a flock of moths on the ceiling. An ok hostel in a... More

I stayed in the hostel in Baltimore lately.I found it perfect for my purposes. Its for sale and could do with a bit of T.L.C. But if not too particular it's fine. Rooms were clean. Kitchen could do with a microwave. Outside yard could do with a sweep.

It`s a while since I stayed here, I was supposed to of been working on Sherkin island at the marine station, but after the very Irish (thick doesn`t cover it) owner wanted me away, so I came here. Must be the best view, except from my tent, anywhere in the British Isles. The staff were friendly. I did a camp... More

Great place to stay, beautiful location, lovely host. I thoroughly recommend visiting Baltimore, an authentic Irish coastal getaway just a 20 minute boat journey to Sherkin. The hostel itself is pleasantly presented with the kitchen opening onto a very nice patio area.
