Paul and Georgiana Keane have developed a private island that includes a working farm, gardens, water sports and several self-catering options. We are 2 couples who shared a 2 bedroom "cottage" in the courtyard. The accomodations were wonderful - we had plenty of room, the kitchen area was fully equipped, bedrooms comfortable, a cozy wood stove in the living room; it was a treat to wander around the acres and enjoy the gardens and woodlands. Among the amenities are a full-size pool, a large video library and laundry facilities.

Internet is not available in the cottages but they offer guests time on their office computer to check email.

We were there for 3 days and wish it could have been longer. Delightful people to talk to, very helpful staff and a marvelous location about half way between Skibbereen and Baltimore. For our 35th anniversary, we decided--practically on the spur of the moment--to go to Ireland. We were very lucky to find the Inish Beg Island Estate where we spent the majority of our time in Ireland. Although we have visited wonderful and beautiful places on several continents, Inish Beg island is the most idyllic place we’ve seen by far.

We went to Inish Beg in mid-April, and found it an excellent time of year to experience the island and the western Cork region of Ireland. We never tired of the green hills parceled by yellow gorse and meandering rock walls, the ocean views, or the scenic country lanes.

Although we used our cottage at Inish Beg as our base while we traveled around the area, we could have been completely content to simply remain on the island and explore its varied natural environments.
