I have just returned home having spent an enjoyable short break with three other people in this hotel. It is a very homely and comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms were Large and bright. We will visit there again. JC White Dublin

When we first arrived at this hotel the staff were immediately unpleasant and left a bad taste in our mouths which was quickly added to by a disgusting experience that happened in the shower in which the water turned a murky brown with brown bits floating in it. When we spoke to the manager he explained that that was just... More

While the interior has been recently modernised and is very comfortable, this hotel retains much of its historic charm. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent service and views over the harbour. The hotel is right in the middle of town, and within easy hearing distance of the cathedral bells.

Booked in due to having a Christmas party nearby.Great value for money for one nights stay. Our room was very spacious with an extra bed and lovely bathroom. Had all we could needed; tv, hairdryer etc. Only downside was any noise in the hall or upstairs could be heard but it is understandable given how old the building is. Would... More

This is an old victorian hotel so it is obviously not perfect but has loads of nostalgia. The hotel and rooms was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room which had a double and single bed and a good sized en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was cooked to... More

We stayed in 2 rooms on 29th to 30th Oct. It's a good hotel with excellent sea view and the breakfast is ok. Old hotel but good and spacious and convenient. Tea/Coffee making facility provided in room. highly recommended property for this price.

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your review about the Commodore Hotel. The hotel itself dates back to 1854 and was one of the first purpose built hotels in Ireland. If the walls could talk they would have many a story to tell about the local maritime and emigration history over the last two centuries. We aim to keep... More

Generally this is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food and drinks charges were reasonable and service good. Simple things would make for a more pleasant stay. For example three of us shared a room but there was only one room key which was an inconvenience at best, surely a multi person room would indicate... More

Hi Paul, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on tripadvisor. We note your comments about the keys. We do have additional keys available on request. The hotel policy is that rooms with three adults or more can be issued an additional key on the guests request. I apologise that this was not the case. Thank you... More
