A reservation mix-up at another B&B left us looking for a place to stay in the Bantry area as we made our way north to Dingle. Best accident ever. It was the end of long day and Julia and Charlie McCarthy came to the rescue with warmth and a huge helping of Irish hospitality in a farmhouse about which, Charlie... More

It was like being part of the family, Julia and Charlie couldn't have looked after us better. If you really want peace and calm this is the place to stay. There is no evening meal but a Full Irish breakfast including the black pudding will keep you going for the day.

We stayed here on our walk around the Sheep's Head way. The place is an oasis, and we enjoyed sitting in the garden more than anything! There is no restaurant around here, but Charlie took us over to Arundel's in Ahakista (which by the way is also very good and worth a visit, especially in nice weather). I would have... More

We stayed here as part of our walk around the Sheep's Head peninsula. The house was gorgeous, the rooms very nice (and clean) and the place (including the view) was beautiful. Last, but not least, we were very well taken care of. The only regret was that we were only booked for one night... We will definitely stay here again... More

Seamount farmhouse is a true Irish gem! Our stay here was an experience we will never forget. When you arrive here Julianne and Charlie make you feel as if you have returned from a long absence and welcome you with a warm and gentle embrace. A very homely feeling. The house is surrounded by spectacular scenery. When we were there... More

Julianne and Charlie and true Irish hosts. If you want to experience what we once had in abundance and now is a little rarer to find stay at this wonderful B&B. Its location is special, unseen from the road (watch out for the sign at the roadside), you drive into a little bit of heaven (esp on a sunny day)... More

The rooms and decor of this stunning country estate are 5 STAR all the way. No detail was overlooked and the two proprietors were incredibly hospitable and attentive and always went the extra mile for us. Our large room was delightful and immaculately clean, and the best part was the picturesque view from our room of the deep blue bay... More

Julia and Charlie made me feel at home from the moment I arrived at their farmhouse overlooking Bantry Bay. The freshly made scones and tea offered to me at my arrival were highly appreciated after a long walk on the award-winning Sheepshead Way from Bantry. Almost everything served for breakfast is home-made, bread, jam and marmalade, fruit salad and the... More

We had a terrific 3 day stop in the Southwest of Ireland at Seamount. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful locations in the country with views across Bantry Bay to the Beara Peninsula. We arrived to tea and scones thanks to Julia and she made us instantly feel at home. The farmhouse has been in her husband Charlie's... More

I stayed at Seamounnt Farmhouse B&B for two nights while hiking on the Sheep Head's Way and I truly enjoyed it. Upon arrival after a long - and wet - day of walking a pot of tea along with home-made scones and jam made me feel so welcome and at home. Wonderful helpful hosts, delicious breakfast, cosy room, beautiful location... More
