I booked this hostel for me and my family for three nights to stay for a holiday on booking.com. Booking.com was giving a price for three nights for the six of us.It was coming to that price for a dorm. I then spent six and half hours travelling to Kerry from Wicklow to find that the hostel was only booked... More

I had a lovely short stay here with a friend recently. I was welcomed by friendly staff who showed me around and to my room. I had a single room with a double bed and ensuite. A big bonus when staying in a hostel. Great if you are looking for a cheap place for a few days going through Kerry.... More

Great value accommodation with a decent sized, clean room. The bed did sag into the middle but that's hardly the hostel's fault. Only down side was that you have to telephone an Irish mobile phone number in order to check in - for us this meant an international call and was quite expensive (the pay phone there wasn't working so... We've been walking the kerry way as we came past this lovely place. It's situated near all important places like shops & pubs. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Kitchen is also great - so stay at the Sive if you come across it, you won't regret it. :) Cheers, Mischa and Dani

Came across this by chance in the dark, the rooms were of excellent value. There was a sitting room for us to use with a coal fire burning. Staff could not have been more helpfull. I would highly recommend this place for any one passing through. There were lots of games for familes, good breakfast and cooking area. At the... More

Had a very nice time there: superfriendly staff, clean spacious room, good location and appreciated the value for money too! The lady who run the hotel was extremely nice: she helped us organizing our journey to the Skellig Islands, let me borrow her laptop and gave us a lot of good advices for our irish tour! I wish I come... More

We found out on Sunday morning that we needed to be in Cahersiveen on Monday evening for a funeral of a member of family. My sister-in-law phone the hostel and booked two double en-suite rooms for us. Other members of the family were looking for a place to stay and I suggested that they try the hostel when they arrived... More

Did a cycling trip around the Ring of Kerry and stopped off at Sive Hostel after a very wet and windy journey. The welcome from Mary was warm and friendly, genuine Irish hospitality. I was given a lovely room in the cottage at the rear, it was a 2 bedroom family unit, self contained but I had it all to... More

I wasn't sure about where to go while I was in the area, but Mary had some great advice about where I should visit. She also helped my to plan transportation to the harbor in PortMagee, where the ferries to Skellig Michael depart. The bathroom on the top floor is a bit small, and the slanted ceiling in the top... Whether you are exploring the rugged south coast, or visiting the many ancient and early Christian monuments in the area, we will make your stay with us one to remember. We have private/family rooms and dormitories with all modern conveniences. We are located in the picturesque town of Cahersiveen on the southwest coast of Ireland. With beautiful scenery and wonderfully friendly local people the town is an attraction in itself, add onto that its convenience to the vast wealth of amenities, places of interest and magnificent unspoilt countryside that Kerry has to offer. Located on the east end of the town, Sive hostel is just a short walk from shops, petrol station, restaurants, church, post office, bureau de change, bank machine, taxi service and pubs with live music. Also in the locality are a tourist information office, local heritage centre and a regular bus service to and from Killarney train station. In our hostel we have many facilities for you to use, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and scenic views of the sea and hills.
