Few days away on the motorbikes touring the south west of Ireland when we hit upon the sleepy camel hostel in Glenbeigh. It's right on the ring of Kerry, has secure parking at the rear, nice rooms and good hot showers..we even got a breakfast there which was not expected. The owner was a sound bloke that was very helpful... More

When I looked at this hostel, I thought it was really expensive, because for the same price you can find accommodation in any luxurious B&B, or even in a 4*hotel near major cities like Cork. Normally hostels sell for half of the price per person in any Irish city. Sleepy Camel offered a massive discount though for that night, so... More

The Sleepy Camel was extremely comfortable. Stay was for 11 days. So i can say first hand that i have a good insight into it. First time in years i slept for a full night. Staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. Facilities are excellent and will be back again without hesitation. I couldn't fault it and was in a... More

Pleasantly small and friendly hostel. Good kitchen facilities if you want to cook. Very accommodating staff - the girl in charge printed out the boarding passes for our return flight, which had been a worry. Loads of space in the very pleasant lounge. Basic but very nice place to stay.

Beautiful setting, kind and professional staff, and lovely amenities. Due to some confusion before I arrived, my booking online went through but when I got into town late that night all the rooms had been filled - some sort of system error on Booking.com. The owner and his staff were incredibly understanding, kind, and concerned. After calling all the guests... More

They were very friendly and pleasant. Lovely place to stay for a reasonable price. It around a lovely little small town, very good for a quite walk. It's not far from a beach to have a walk along. The other guests were also very friendly. I would reccomend anyone to stay here.

Lovely welcoming staff, I really could not give them enough praise. Very clean rooms & bathrooms, showers were powerful and lots of hot water at all times. Located in the centre of the village. Plenty of craic in the local pub 'ashas'

Although described as a hostel, what you get at the Sleepy Camel is far in advance of what is on offer at similarly described venues. Our en suite room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable double bed which we didn't have to make up or strip on arrival/departure, and the pleasant decor and furnishings were more akin to a small... We stayed in the Sleepy Camel before and after doing the Glenbeigh Horseshoe walk (27km and 14 hours of walking). Excellent facilities and although only coffee and toast are available for breakfast we supplemented these with our own food. Would stay here again.

Great value and ideal location. Really welcoming and relaxed place, clean and comfortable, all needs catered for. Its right on the ring of Kerry and beside the Skellig Ring too. Ideally situated for exploring Kerry and 2mins walk to pubs and restaurants. Stunning beach down the road. Highly recommend.
