We stayed in the hotel for a week. There were several coach parties but the service was excellent and there were no delays. Very clean and comfortable room. A great base to explore South West Ireland. A nice to river walk 2 minutes from the hotel. I would definitely like to go back to River Island.

Easily the two main plus points of this Hotel are its totally wonderful Staff and the central location. Very lovely welcome upon arrival, and great service throughout our stay. We appreciated the kindly late-night Bar service after our busy days, two individual full Irish breakfasts especially cooked for us after the breakfast buffet was cleaned out by a coach party,... Very comfortable stay, staff are lovely so helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, will be staying here again when we come back to visit family and friends. Would definitely recommend and very misleading from the outside how big it is. Breakfast was a plenty and set us up for the day, we arrived early but still checked us in and offered... More

Stand at River a Island after 4yr absence and it is still as good, as it was then. The staff have remained largely unchanged, which is lovely. Although the room, 104 wasn't great this time. It overlooked the Main Street, and so we had all the 'rowdy's' shouting outside the Hotel whilst they had a cigarette on the Friday night,... More

we arrive to a warm welcome, first impressions of the outside is how we all going to fit in, it looks small from the outside but it is lovely inside. the hotel staff were cheerful helpful and friendly. The food was good breakfast was a serve yourself style but everything was available which is exspected for a traditional breakfast, except... More

I have just returned from a short tour around South West Ireland which was based at this hotel. We were a group of 26 people and we all thought the hotel was very good. The bedrooms are spacious with a double bed and a single bed in each and with easy to operate shower and bath controls. The TVs in... More

We arrived slightly later than anticipated for a 4 night stay, as part of a large group. The check in was the quickest I have come across in a long time, which was much appreciated as the journey had been a long one. Right from the start the staff were very helpful, attentive, and welcoming. The rooms are a good... More

I travelled to Castleisland with a group that were participating in the Kerry Drama Festival. The hotel is located in the centre of the town a few minutes walk from their theatre. We had a very pleasant stayed overnight stay in this hotel. It is small hotel with a really friendly and helpful staff. As I was heading out to... More

Stayed for three nights while on a coach tour of the area, hotel accommodation clean and comfortable but views from the room limited by rooftops at rear of hotel, meals and service good with excellent selection and friendly staff. Castleisland typical small provincial Irish town with not much to attract anyone but good base for touring the Ring of Kerry... More

Lovely welcome when the coach drew up outside the hotel. My group were very well looked after even though the hotel was very busy as our stay was over a bank holiday weekend. Friendly staff, good choice of menu in the first floor restaurant. Bedrooms clean and tidy. Good location for the Ring of Kerry, Dingle and away from the... More
