Stayed for three nights while on a coach tour of the area, hotel accommodation clean and comfortable but views from the room limited by rooftops at rear of hotel, meals and service good with excellent selection and friendly staff. Castleisland typical small provincial Irish town with not much to attract anyone but good base for touring the Ring of Kerry... More

Lovely welcome when the coach drew up outside the hotel. My group were very well looked after even though the hotel was very busy as our stay was over a bank holiday weekend. Friendly staff, good choice of menu in the first floor restaurant. Bedrooms clean and tidy. Good location for the Ring of Kerry, Dingle and away from the... More

We were a bit apprehensive about this hotel but we needn't have worried. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made welcome. We travelled as part of a coach party and made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Our coach broke down on one outing and the driver informed the hotel we would be late.... More

Stayed as we were playing golf close by. Room was clean and spacious. TV wasn't modern, but no big deal as it wasn't used. Front bar area is quite small and the larger part is a mix between a restaurant and a bar which is slightly strange. There may have been another area that wasn't open. Food was inexpensive and... Stopped in Castle island for lunch on a trip to Crag caves. The River Island hotel looked nice from the outside. When we went in we were redirected to another location upstairs for lunch. First signs were bad. Place was totally deserted for lunch. The menu on display at the entrance was different to the one we were given at... More

Staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. The service outstanding, the hotel clean and modern (apart from the TV). The room was tidy and comfortable, we slept well. It was a wrench to leave as the staff had been so kind.

As hotels go, this hotel is fine, nothing outstanding but fine. What makes it that little bit better is that they employ Irish local people who typify the real Ireland. Dinner is good and reasonable value, again not outstanding but typical Irish, country hotel fare. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Country town hotels are fast disappearing and being replaced instead... More

I visited this hotel last month with a coach party and it is one of the very best hotels in which I have ever stayed. Great location for both Kerry airport and the "Ring of Kerry." Lovely food and fabulous staff. Absolutely wonderful. Thanks to all the manager and staff.

Stayed there last night and was hugely impressed by the very warm welcome extended to us by all of the staff. Genuinely friendly and exceptionally helpful people. Spotlessly clean rooms, a very good breakfast and all for a very reasonable price. What's not to like?

Had breakfast this morning Sunday good breakfast. Unfortunately my dread the microwave. Can't be helped. This is the age we live in. Very good plenty of everything well cooked. Bantam eggs rare. Lots of tea! Had a visit from a few bluebottles. I eat faster than them. (Believe they are in season.). Staff good. Wondered if the wan from Scart... More
