The Avalon B&B was our first stop on a two-week long trip. Mary was lovely and very pleasant. The rooms were pretty and very comfortable. The dining room is beautiful and a wonderful space in which to begin the day. The breakfast was great. Overall a really excellent experience.

Located near to Shannon Airport; Friendly & hospitable hostess. Beds were really firm and location very quiet. We tend to need both softer beds and some white noise to sleep well, but that's just a personal preference. Breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.

We flew into Shannon Airport & arrived at 8:30 pm. I had informed the hostess ahead of time of our late arrival, and she said it would be no problem. I chose this B & B because it was close to the airport, and I wanted to return to the Hertz rental car office in the morning to pick up... More

We read all of the reviews about Avalon bed and breakfast , including the two very bad ones. Although we are not going to dispute those bad ones , we can honestly say that we did not find that Mary was at all rude or abrupt in any way. We found Mary to be really accommodating and extremely helpful in... More

We stayed in the west or Ireland for 10 days,We mostly stayed in B&Bs, This was by far the best we stayed in, We had a lovely welcome from Mary who filled us in on what was available in the area,The room was very comfortable with a large bed,the best i have ever slept in, the breakfast was a joy... We just traveled all around Ireland and stayed in B&Bs. This was by far the WORST place we stayed. It should be a "rent a room" and not a bed and breakfast. We barely met the proprietor and were not asked if we needed anything or if we found something to eat, etc. They were more concerned with watching TV... More

I booked Avalon B & B for two reasons: that it is near the Shannon Airport and that the Tripadvisor had very good reviews on the B &B. We spent two weeks in Ireland West recently and selected all 8 bed and breakfast after I read the reviews on Tripadvisors. All are very true to the description, some are far... More

This was our third stay at the Avalon. We originally choose it because of it's location near the airport, but came back for the comfort and hospitality. Mary is charming, the breakfast is excellent and the room very comfortable. We will stay here any time we are in the area, even if we are not flying into or out of... More

Because we arrived very lately in the airport, we have booked a B&B close to the airport . The B&B was very good, very tasteful breakfast; nice and clean rooms with wonderful beds). The hosts were very helpful. For just 10 euro/drive, they came to pick us up at the airport, and brought us back the day after (so that... More

Stayed here in April 2009 for two nights. The B&B is near the airport, althought a bit difficult to find, but if you follow the directions in the B&B site, you`ll do it. We - couple with 10 years old daughter -, were given "the family room" wich had a double and a single bed and a door to the... More
