This was our fifth stay at the Quay House over a period of about 20 years and as enjoyable as ever. Paddy and Julia Foyle are delightful hosts and treat all their guests, new and old, as members of the family. Originally they offered evening meals, but no longer; however, there are very good restaurants (try Mitchells, but book a... More

Stay at this beautiful hotel where each room is beautifully decorated and unique. I stayed here for a weekend in September with a group of friends. The management (Paddy, Julia & their staff) bent backwards to make our stay perfect and ensured nothing was amiss. Not only was the breakfast generous but delicious and beautifully presented - every time! The... More

Sometimes in life, everything comes together perfectly and this was entirely the case for my recent birthday party at the Quay House. 25 of us enjoyed the whole of the Quay House for two nights and we could not have had more delightful surroundings, more eclectically elegant, beautiful rooms and a warmer welcome. Most reviews comment on the warmth of... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in late August. The first thing we saw upon arrival were a number of plaques by the front door announcing various awards that the hotel has won. It didn't take long to understand how they had been earned. These people know how to run a B&B. The building itself is so... More

We had booked for 1 night in this place not really knowing what to expect, but truly did enjoy it very much, we stayed in the Mirror room, which was amazingly charming and large, although the bathroom could use some tender care .. This place was in fact a big surprise for us, it could be a museum, you'll for... More

Paddy, Julia and their son Nico are the best innkeepers you'll ever meet. Nothing is a problem. These hands on owners along with their staff serve the best breakfast I've ever had. Rooms have very unique themes and we enjoyed the spacious Napoleon room with magnificent views of the bay. For anyone visiting Connemara this elegant inn is a must.

My travel companion and I played a game for 2 1/2 weeks in Ireland...."what would life be like if you had to live in this room for the rest of your life?", and, "Of all the places we stayed, where would you choose to live?" Well, I would move into the Quay House if they would let me. Beautiful, spacious... More

My daughter and I had a huge room at the Quay House in Clifden. Julia and Paddy were some of the friendliest proprietors that we had encountered on our trip to Ireland. The view of the harbor from our room was really nice. But most of all, the breakfast was outstanding --the dining area is like a greenhouse and the... More

My first visit was in 2009. I always knew I would return! I had fallen in love with The Quay House and with Paddy and Julia. It was an emotional reunion. This is the most delicious faraway setting. Stunning land and seascapes and Clifden a buzzing little town with two magnificent restaurants. . . Mitchells and Marconi. The Quay House... More

My wife and I spent two nights last week at the Quay House. Our room was most comfortable with a perfect view of the harbor. The ambiance and warmth of the accommodations was beyond compare with the other stops along our bike tour of Ireland's west coast. The owners, Julia and Paddy are amazing hosts and provide a superb breakfast... More
