Would completely recommend this to anyone and met all expectations after having read the good reviews online. We arrived very late in the evening and Paddy and wife were excellent arranging for the local Indian to stay open that we could eat. Paddy even ran us down there. I only wish that we could have stayed longer to have better... More

Sophisticated and cheerful. The Quay House is charmingly intimate with the best breakfast in Ireland. Alongside the jetty it is quiet and a few minutes walk from the town's bustle. An alpha. Lots of info and advice from Julia and Paddy.

We love everything about this inn. The owners are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts feature lots of fresh fish but also eggs and wonderful baked goods, the rooms are beautiful and quiet and the walls throughout the inn are covered with interesting artwork. Lots of common rooms with comfortable chairs and sofas make for cozy reading. We wish we... More

The Quay House is the Perfect Place to stay! Perfect room: We rested and relaxed in a spotlessly clean and spacious room that included a comfortable sitting area and a lovely balcony view of harbor, town and Connemara! We especially appreciated the super-comfortable king bed and large bathroom. Perfect breakfast: We were treated to fresh, varied and delicious choices including... More

Accomodation amazing. Breakfast menus amazing. Owners & staff amazing. We go to Quay House every year. It's like an annual pilgrimage. Fantastic for chilling out. Great accomodation position to tour around all the Gayway/Mayo country side by self-drive and to return to your beautiful relaxing accomodation by night. Clifden has a fantastic selection of night time eateries, most notable, Mitchell's,... More

Paddy and Julia made us feel very welcome in their house in great location overlooking harbour, just 5 minutes walk from centre of town. Our room had balconywith view of harbour, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and with a bath ans powerful shower. But... More

Anyone would love this place. Arriving alone and not feeling well, I was met by Julia Foyle at the bus stop coming fron Galway. She was warm, intelligent and beautiful. Her son brought the suitcases in and carried them to the room. It overlooked the Quay and had architectural high points! Bongo the black pug hung out downstairs, a new... More

Cold bedroom. Insufficient heating. Lounge open fire just let go out although we were reading in the room. Breakfast room was cold again without heating and leaked badly in the rain. Breakfast was not more than average. Overall not an experience we care to repeat.

Just returned from a wonderful walking weekend in Clifden. Our group of 22 stayed with Paddy and Julia for two nights. Our annual event in memory of our friend John was made all the more memorable by the amazing hospitality, gorgeous breakfast, pots of tea and cake after our days walking and the most beautiful accommodation. We spent Sunday after... More
