Anyone would love this place. Arriving alone and not feeling well, I was met by Julia Foyle at the bus stop coming fron Galway. She was warm, intelligent and beautiful. Her son brought the suitcases in and carried them to the room. It overlooked the Quay and had architectural high points! Bongo the black pug hung out downstairs, a new... More

Cold bedroom. Insufficient heating. Lounge open fire just let go out although we were reading in the room. Breakfast room was cold again without heating and leaked badly in the rain. Breakfast was not more than average. Overall not an experience we care to repeat.

Just returned from a wonderful walking weekend in Clifden. Our group of 22 stayed with Paddy and Julia for two nights. Our annual event in memory of our friend John was made all the more memorable by the amazing hospitality, gorgeous breakfast, pots of tea and cake after our days walking and the most beautiful accommodation. We spent Sunday after... More

I loved this place! Nestled down a quiet street near a little harbor, the Quay House (pronounced key) was such fun. Each room of the house is comfortable and inviting. That is true for the owners, Paddy and Julia, too. We stayed in the Napoleon Room -- such a fun place. The room was clean, comfy and private. the breakfast... More

What a place! So cozy with such a warm welcome. Everywhere you look is beautiful and each bedroom has its own theme. Our room was beautiful.comfortable with a variety of interesting techniques. The breakfast room is so pretty and the breakfast was the best we have ever had. Such a selection of local foods and attention to detail. You really... More

The B&B is located in the harbor at the edge of the little town of Clifden. Clifden is a nice town with lots of great food and old building, you can walk to the town centre in 5 minutes. At the moment there is a building site in front of the B&B which creates a lot of noise. The welcome... More

As good as we could ask for, very warm welcome, nice rooms, open fires, nice breakfast area, very close to town while not exactly on the main street (good in my view) and hosts willing to do anything to make your stay a total success. Do book it!

I drove through Clifden town hoping to find somewhere quiet but in walking distance to the town. What a place this is. The rooms were huge and had their own kitchens and fully equipped luxury bathrooms...I'm talking roll top bath AND walk in shower, not just a hose stuck on the taps! The rest of this amazing, maze-like house is... More

We stayed in The Quay House in Clifden on Easter weekend. The setting is perfect and the hospitality is amazing. Paddy &Julia Foyle and staff run a superb operation and every last detail is catered for. The rooms are big, the atmosphere peaceful and the breakfast isn't famous for no reason. The whole place is great. It's like staying with... More

Friends from LA recommended the Quay House and it was as they described and even more. Paddy and Julia were outstanding, the breakfast was unexpected and wonderful, the drive in the area panoramic. Our room was perfect , and we would not hesitate to recommend the Quay House and Clifden.
