My first visit was in 2009. I always knew I would return! I had fallen in love with The Quay House and with Paddy and Julia. It was an emotional reunion. This is the most delicious faraway setting. Stunning land and seascapes and Clifden a buzzing little town with two magnificent restaurants. . . Mitchells and Marconi. The Quay House... More

My wife and I spent two nights last week at the Quay House. Our room was most comfortable with a perfect view of the harbor. The ambiance and warmth of the accommodations was beyond compare with the other stops along our bike tour of Ireland's west coast. The owners, Julia and Paddy are amazing hosts and provide a superb breakfast... More

It's the kind of place you don't want to leave, even to go up the town for a meal. The rooms are out of this world, so beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Napoleon room which is full of memorabilia and has not one but two balconies overlooking the harbour. I saw several of the other rooms and it would be... More

The Quay House will charm, delight and please every one of your senses. The taste of gourmet, home cooked breakfast...the sound of the water lapping the shores across the way...the feel of the cozy beds at the end of a day of sightseeing...the smell of crisp ocean air...all this combined with world-class service from the couple team of Julia and... This is a lovely place, tucked snugly into a corner of the harbour. It has a wonderful ambience, old romantics, warm and cosy. Paddy and Julia were very welcoming and helpful. We had top floor rooms with balconies opening to the harbour. Appreciated that. Breakfast provided was more like a brunch with ample choices, good tea and coffee, yummy, yummy... More

On honeymoon, we traveled south and western Ireland. We made it to Clifden and were looking for a place to stay. A local anitque shop woman recommended this place and told to ask for Paddy. On a side note: The people of Irleand, everywhere we went were so friendly and inviting. It was as if we had friends everywhere. As... More

To be honest, I spent too much time wondering what Alex Polizzi would say about this place. There are antiques everywhere and you certainly don't run out of things to look out! I wouldn't have minded fewer mirrors around the place but that's personal taste. We had 2 small bedrooms and a lovely sized bathroom. There were no comfy chairs,... More

From the welcome by Paddy and Julia- consummate professionals and charming - our 3 nights at this lovely spot by the small harbour in Clifden were magic. Our room was spacious slightly quirky in decor but very comfortable overlooking the tiny harbour. Varied and spacious communal areas and nothing was too much bother for the hosts and their team. The... More

We recently spent a few days in Clifden, staying at the charming Quay House by the harbor. The decor of the house is worth the visit - eclectic, unusual and very interesting. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Breakfast choices are fresh, delicious and plentiful ( I even tried the kippers one morning, a bit of a stretch for an... More

We had a wonderful relaxing short break here with friends and would love to return soon. Amazing breakfast for Nick starting with fresh oysters. Our hosts and staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The view from our bedroom was over the inlet.
