What a lovely place. Wish we had stayed more than 2 nights. I felt the restaurant is priced well for what is being served and was some of the best meals we had while traveling Ireland. The wine selection to choose from was nice also. The view from our room was a wonderful view of the bay as were the... more

Stayed overnight last year. Views - out of this world Room clean and accepatble poor veiw of grass bank and very dark Parking - great no problems About 10-15 Min walk into Clifden, not a walk for anybody with reduced mobility Did not eat at the hotel for dinner, it was pricey although menu sounded great, plenty of restaurants in... more

Food was beautiful but expensive. The rooms are basic with loud dark colours and in my opinion would be nicer in a brighter decor. Staff were robotic and no Irish welcomes which to me an Irish Country Hotel should have. Host was charming both in early morning and late at night. Could be delightful if some changes were made. more

My husband and I have just returned from 3 nights B&B and evening meal at this lovely small family run hotel. Settled in amongst the lakes of the Conneamara in Co. Galway, this is excellent for the quiet break where attention is to quality and comfort with a friendly smile. The Ardagh Hotel had been recommended for its food and... more

Stayed at The Ardagh in June 2004, having visited on two previous occasions in 2000 and 2002. Food and hospitality were excellent. The views and sunset across the bay are unbelievable. Monique was the perfect hostess with the personal problems of 2003 gone and her staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back again. more

The Ardagh Hotel could be an excellent venue. The food in the restaurant and the bar were excellent. The rooms were average. However, the service was lacking in professionalism and genuine hospitality. The owners were barely civil to one another and created much tension in the hotel. It would appear that it is not a happy place to work, and,... more

Having stayed in the Ardagh several times over the past 8 years, we were very disapointed on our visit this year. The accommodation and the fine food were as always above standard - the music and craic ran into the early hours of the morning led by the owners tamberine playing and sing songs galore. Disapointment came in that this... more

I am in two minds writing this. One half of me wants to keep the place a tight secret, so that we can always be sure of a booking. The other half wants to tell everyone how great it is. We first stumbled across the Ardagh by accident well over a decade ago, desperately looking for a place to stay... more
