There were several very nice B&B's in Adare: if at all possible, skip DuHallow House, and try one of the following: Carrigane house, Berkley Lodge, Abbey villa, Aspen House.

I booked DuHallow for the last night of my trip. We knew we would be spending very minimal time at the B&B since we were flying out early the next day, and I made sure Nora was aware of our schedule when we booked. Although we were charged for breakfast, Nora informed us when we checked in that she would not get up that early (7 AM) to feed us / cook breakfast. When we asked for just tea/coffee/toast, she even refused to do that. Even worse, she wouldn't give us a discount for not providing breakfast. This was the only bad experience I had in Ireland, so I would avoid this accomodation in favor of any other B&B in town.

The room itself was small / shower marginal, no alarm clock. Big disappointment.

Duhallow House is a charming, rustic, small modern family home, with a warm, friendly, atmosphere, in lovely, quite & peaceful, surroundings, at the edge of Adare village. Run by the charming Nora Hennessy, who always assures a personal service for her guests, her room rates are very competitive, compared to the overpriced B&Bs in the village centre. Each of the three guest bedrooms (Double, Twin or Treble) has a T.V. with a choice of Irish, U.S., U.K & German satellite channels, plus, two in-house video channels with a wide choice of Irish movies, documentaries, etc. If having an early night, avail of the chance of catching up on some great Irish movies like "The Quite Man, "Ryans Daughter", "The Field", "Michael Collins", etc.
Breakfast is very good and involves a rang of option choices - Cooked and/or Uncooked. There is a large, very secure, private car park for guests. You can find more info, including pictures, on the Adare...
