We really enjoyed our far-too-brief stay at this beautiful B&B. Mary was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome on arrival but at the same time was not at all obtrusive and checked us in very quickly to allow us to make our appointment elsewhere on time. The breakfast was lovely (especially the gorgeous bread) and felt relaxed... More

Mary has to be the sweetest lady on earth. Huge bedrooms in this historic house with antiques. Feeling of being way out in the country, but you really aren't far from town. Lovely views while sitting at breakfast. So peaceful!!! Great breakfast! Hated to leave Mary!

the house is absolutely amazing, heard it was 200 years old. the house has lots of character, just outside of the village of Adare, stands a mansion with yellow walls, surrounded by meadows with cows. upon entering the room we were amazed by its beauty & size. the room had very traditional design, with blue wall papers & carpets. the... Fantastic B & B in a rural setting just a few mins drive from Adare. Fabulous views of countryside from our room. Large rooms, huge bathroom and all beautifully set up with everything you need (including fast reliable internet) Mary is such a lovely host - wonderful home baking to accompany the cup of tea on arrival. Wouldn't stay anywhere... More

We spent two nights here in two rooms in Mid-July with our two teenaged daughters during a vacation through Southwest Ireland. Clonunion House is a quiet, traditional B&B run by Mary Fitzgerald, and we found it to be a terrific central point for our explorations around County Clare and Tipperary. The home is several hundred years old, sitting in the... More

We had been travelling for several weeks, staying in B&B's and wanted something more spacious than our previous choices. Not only were the rooms spacious, warm and comfortable, Mary and her daughter made us feel very much at home. We intended to stay one night but stayed for three nights. We enjoyed the open fire in the family living room... More

Four of us enjoyed the wonderful hospitality provided by Mary and Siobhan. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms fine and breakfasts substantial. We are still recovering. The most outstanding part of our 3 day stay was Mary and Siobhan's genuine interest in us.Sometimes it was hard to tear ourselves away to get on with our touring because we were having such a lovely... We stayed at Clounion House for two nights in July and it was a really fantastic find. A lovely big old house with lots of character set in beautiful grounds. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom, huge. If you want a change from the normally impersonal modern b and b then this is the place to be. We were... More

The Clonunion House is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast placed just a couple of kilometres out of the lovely town of Adare. We were greeted by our hostess Mary who immediately had us seated in the sitting room with a pot of tea with biscuits. We were looking for a chat and Mary was happy to provide a local prospective.... We easily found Mary Fitzgerald's Clonunion House Farmhouse B&B just outside of Adare, County Limerick after driving south from Kinvara earlier that day. We had stopped at several tourist destinations (Cliffs of Moher, Knappogue Castle, and Quin Friary) and were rather tired by the time we got to the B&B. Mary warmly welcomed us into her home with tea service.... More
