Stayed 2 nights and could have stayed longer. Dan, the owner is possibly the most charming man in Ireland. Funny, welcoming and a perfect host. The entire staff could not have been nicer from Che our waiter to Thuy the gardener. We planned to just have dinner one night but the food was so out of this world we ate... more

My family spent last saturday night at the Mustard Seed to celebrate my 40th birthday. WOW. We had the best time. What a fabulously special place. The welcome was so warm; I was greeted at the front door by Dan with a box of chocolates which we devoured with afternoon tea in front of the fire, pure decadence. All of... more

As oasis of tranquility in Ballingarry Co. Limerick - Beautiful house & gardens. Attention to detail is wonderful. Staff are the best we have come across of late. Dinner was so enjoyable, right down to the dessert. Mustardseed at Echo Lodge is pure perfection more

I have just spent four days staying at Echo Lodge, where the staff are an integral part in making this place so good. The food in the Mustard Seed Restaurant defied all its good reviews in its excellence. Rooms were quirky and relaxing. The effort put in by all to make our stay enjoyable was a success. I will be... more

Dined at the restaurant here and had a memorable time, real genius at work in the kitchen! Its all fresh hearty produce from the garden executed to perfection. Homemade ice creams and desserts ,breads are homemade too!! I dined here on business a few years back and it was nowhere near as good as it now ,the service was impeccable... more

Spent one night here with a group of friends for pre-Christmas dinner, we decided to stay the night to prolong the evening. This is a very traditional country house, creaky floorboards, mix-n-match carpets and the most electic taste in art work. The quality and size of bedrooms varies greatly and unfortunately we got one of the smaller rooms (number 4).... more

Stayed at Echo Lodge in June with my girlfriend, and were wowed by the wonderful accomodations and food. This is a beautiful country house with lovely gardens and loads of charm. We felt like we were staying in an Agatha Christie novel. The staff couldn't be more friendly, and the cat (Miss Tansey) provides wonderful company for tea in the... more

Echo Lodge and the Mustard Seed restaurant is in the small village of Ballingarry about 6 miles south of Adare and 25 miles south of Limerick. The old converted convent has about 20 large bedrooms, each unique and full of antiques. Despite the age of the building the house is spotless, warm and full of character. The food is really... more
