My husband and I totally enjoyed our time in Kinsale and at the Cloisters B&B. John was very helpful in providing us with a map and recommendations in the town. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Only down side was the terrible water pressure in the shower. (I wasn't expecting it to be great,... more

Kinsale is a very cute town, and well worth a visit for a night or two. Cloisters is a great B&B and for us the highlight was their breakfast. It was the best we had in Ireland, and that is saying a lot because we had great food the whole trip. The location is perfect and John and Mairead do... more

The Cloisters was one of the nicest B & B's we stayed in during our 12 days in Ireland. The room was very nice with a big bed and luxury linens. Breakfast included a number of options. John was very helpful in providing directions to our next location. Kinsale is a lovely little town; we would have liked to have... more

This bed and breakfast was centrally located, and as a friend said, had the cleanest room he'd ever seen. The room was nicely decorated, and John and Maired provided an excellent breakfast, as well as advice for our ongoing travels. It was a delight to stay there. more

The Cloisters is well located in Kinsale, just a few blocks from the center of town, on a side street. The house is very plain from the outside, but the inside has been remodeled, and is very modern. Our room was large and very nice. The bed was the most comfortable of our trip. The breakfast was great. John was... more

Cloisters was the perfect place to start our trip to Ireland! After a 10-hour flight from Los Angeles to Dublin, then a 4-hour drive to Kinsale, the EXTREMELY comfortable bed at Cloisters was a godsend! So was the hospitality we received the minute we got there. John had a list and map of the pubs/restaurants in town, where to go... more

My wife and I stayed two nights at Cloisters in Oct 2008. It is located in town, an easy walk to all points in the very pretty yachting village, and had off-street parking for our car. Mairead Ryan gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful recommending local restaurants, sights and activities. Our room, as she had stated in... more

We stayed here for two nights during a two week trip and found The Cloisters B&B and Mairead and John simply delightful! Our room, #4, was nicely decorated and was huge! The B&B was spotless. There is a choice of 5 breakfasts--which was a nice change of pace. Both Mairead and John gave us great local town advice, plus local... more

Cloisters has a great location in Kinsale - just 5 minutes walk from everything in town, but it has parking (a bonus in Kinsale) and is quite quiet. The B&B is newly updated and nicely appointed. Breakfasts were the best of our trip to Ireland. Best of all, John and Mairead are wonderful - offering great recommendations for Kinsale activities... more

After staying in two subpar hotels in Dublin and Kilkenny, we were delighted when we arrived at the Cloisters. Great location, clean spacious rooms, great breakfast and wonderful hosts. I highly recommend the Cloisters B&B. more
