I stayed here Aug 2006, the bed was really tiny - a large single bed with some kind of dodgy dusty four poster effect - very misleading on their website, the bathroom was miniscule and worst of all there were USED COTTON BUDS on the toilet back!!!! REVOLTING!! SIMPLY NOT CLEANED!! It was full of dusty knick knacks and generally... more

Myself and my partner decided to go to Kinsale for 2 nights Friday and Saturday for rugby 7s, we rang the lighthouse and booked 2 nights with Carmel the owner, we gave her the visa number and all our details. she rang my boyfriend back the next day as she got a miss call form us. so everything was sorted,... more

We do not understand the bad critics for this house. Although it's maybe not very luxury, it's located lovely, nice view over Kinsale, a lot of antiques which suits the house and its owner. The rooms are mostly small, bathroom was o.k. and yes, we found a small spider too in our room but so what! The room was clean... more

I am from Cork City and me and my partner went down to Kinsale for St. Patricks weekend. We initially consulted tripadvisor to give more insight of a couple of B&B's because we did not get availibility at the hotel where we usually stayed. The only B&B that had avaiibilty was the lighthouse, but were very sceptical about it after... more

I am going to have to agree with most of the other reviews. We were greeted by a note on the door, entered, had to find our own rooms(we just presumed the ones with doors open. Both our rooms were very dark and musty, and the bathrooms really old and dated with bleach stains on the bright red towels. it was... more

When we arrived the host, Carmel, was not even there (although we'd called the day before to secure a time) and made us feel at fault?! We had a room with little more than a one foot perimeter around the bed. The website uses old pictures and leads you to believe this is a treasure when, in fact, it's a... more

We arrived at The Lighthouse, no one was in, unfortunately we did not have the telephone number with us for Carmel so walked down into the town to the Tourist Board for her number, they kindly let us use their phone and she said she would be back in 10 minutes. She arrived in a fluster and palmed us on... more

I wish that I had seen these reviews before making this booking. The host, Carmel, was rude when we arrived, at first not even answering the door. There was a note on the door telling people to call someone else for access, but we had no cell phone, and were not about to go all the way back down into... more

We went as a family group of 4 adults. The B&s is located on a steep hill and parking is difficult though not impossible. We had a galaxy van and managed to park on the hill, although it was challenging! The owner if friendly, although a little strange - we found she sang a lot and although some in our... more

I booked this for my parents for 3 nights, I booked by e-mail and gave my cc details, I received a reply and everything seemed fine, when my parents arrived at the B & B they were advised there had been a flood, ( seriously doubt there was) and that the B &B had e-mailed myself two days previous to... more
