My husband and I brought our parents to Ireland for 10 days and stayed here for 2 nights. We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay. Woodland House has both a B&B and hotel feel. Valerie is a friendly and gracious host serving coffee and tea on our arrival. The rooms were well appointed and clean. It is a... more

One of the nicest B&B's we stayed in during our week in Ireland. Brian welcomed us and nothing was too much trouble, the room was very spacious and homely and the breakfast top class. Kinsale itself is a lovely place, on Brian's recommendation we went to Fishy Fishy for a meal and it was fabulous - a little expensive but... more

Well I have pretty mixed feelings about Woodlands. First of all, it is definitely a fantastic property with a lovely garden, and the hill up to it really is not that bad (we walked it in the pitch dark after a meal in the town). On arrival in Kinsale there were road works being done and as we were travelling... more

Having had the misfortune of staying at the Cork Travelodge I felt the need to recouperate in somewhere civilised. Woodlands House is 10 mins walk up the steep hill out of the back of Kinsale town up the Bandon Road. Awaiting is a pristine stylish house, as spotless on the inside as it is on the out. You are greeted... more

I really enjoyed my weekend here. The rooms are lovely and spacious and ours was an ensuite. It was also extremely clean and welcoming, we received lovely coffee/tea and biscuits when we arrived. It is also excellent value. The owners were welcoming at all times and helped book taxis/dining etc for us when we requested. There's ample parking too. Town... more

First impressions said it all here;nice neat garden and entrance...all the local brochures you could ask for on display.A shower that would blow you away and a spotless & spacious room. To top it all off the most delicious french toast {i'm an addict} with syrup & cinnamon sugar for breakfast & REAL coffee and even green tea for my... more

My husband, 4 year old son, and I had an lovely stay with Valerie and her husband. The house is charming; a new construction gingerbread-style house. We were warm although the weather outside was chilly. The bed was comfy, everything was spotless, breakfast was superb. What I would like to add to everyone else's praise is that our young child... more

We stayed at the Woodlands House for one night during a weeklong trip in Ireland. Overall, the room was clean, a good size, and nicely appointed. I think this place is a good value compared to some of the expensive establishments in town. What was lacking, in my opinion, was a certain warmth and personality that we had experienced at... more

Having read other reviews before choosing Woodlands House, I had expected something a bit more impressive so was slightly dissapointed. But it's nice enough and I've got nothing else in Kinsale to compare it with. The room we had was very spacious (apart from a small bathroom but we only have showers anyway) and comfortable, as well as nicely decorated... more

The Woodlands House is a newer house, but I didn't get the feeling of "luxury" that some of the previous reviewers mentioned. Our room was very cramped. However, I think they added a portable cot to our room to make a triple into a quad. Nonetheless, we barely had enough room to walk through the room if our suitcases were... more
