Stopped here for a one night stay with two friends. Very clean place.Very friendly staff. We arrived a little later than expected but they had no complaints about us checking in late. Traditional full Irish breakfast served. Delicious. Free Wifi. Not the most comfortable beds. Shower and bath was powerful and clean. Very large room. Iron and built in board... More

Just spent a wonderful few days in Friars Lodge in lovely Kinsale. Friars lodge is a home away from home thanks to the lovely Maureen, her daughter Aine and all the lovely staff there. Dog friendly , beautifully appointed rooms just a short walk from the water and the lovely streets of Kinsale. Fabulous breakfasts- home cooked and fantastic array... More

This hotel is located just outside the heart of town, convenient to the shops, pubs and restaurants. Our room was very large, comfortable and clean. We stayed here two nights and would stay here again.

We stayed here with my family of 4 and the room was huge. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean. Had a good, quiet nights sleep. The hot water ran very cold in my shower, after 2 of us showered, but the hotel discounted my charge bc of this. The hot breakfast was good, but the buffet options were... More

I stayed here in early July as part of a group of ten girls on a hen weekend. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and even though we were central it was very quiet so perfect if you want a relaxing stay. The guest... More

We stayed for two nights on a recent Rick Steves tour. The place was quirky and had some pleasant features but overall a bit dreary. The Room: -The room was very large and appeared clean with a decent bed. The furnishings were dark and worn and the linens and towels scratchy and cheap feeling. The bathroom had one of those... We stayed at the Friars lodge the first weekend in June. I was so impressed that we booked for the same weekend next year. 2015. Firstly we were upgraded to a larger room which was just lovely. The bathroom was large and immaculately clean. There was lovely tea and coffee which was perfect after shopping all day. The breakfast was... More

We were pretty disappointed by this place for a number of reasons, not the least of which was a desk clerk that insulted us. Rooms are spartan and on the seedy side, with outdated baths (remember the square dryers with a hose?) and poor electrical capacity (we blew a fuse by using a fan and space heater since running clothes...
