This very personable, very contemporary B&B was wonderful. My husband and I just returned from Ireland and the Blindgate house was by far one of the nicest places we stayed at. It is a short 6 minute walk into the center of Kinsale. If you want views of the ocean stay downtown, but be warned you will be dealing with... more

Kinsale and surrounding area are lovely, but for the price, I expected more. The desk attendants were difficult to find (on arrival repeated rings at the doorbell before answered, and the next day phone calls to the front desk were unanswered for a couple hours). The room was showing wear and tear (furniture damaged, bathroom edges grimey), and the view... more

My husband and I just finished a week driving through Ireland and really enjoyed Kinsale and the Blindgate House. This property has large comfortable rooms and bathrooms, a very pretty common area for guests to congregate, and ample parking. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. The staff was friendly and accomodating. This is a good base for visiting this... more

We stayed one night in this B&B and had a very good experience. The common areas were furnished in a contemporary decor, clean, airy and serene. The bedroom was of a decent size for 3 of us and the bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast was really good and filling with a choice of hot dishes made to order. Our... more

Stayed two nights in this fantastic guesthouse. The landlady Maeve was one of the friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered. We arrived late in the afternoon and had no reservations in town for dinner. Maeve pulled a half dozen menus from under the reception desk and asked us what type of cuisine we were looking for. Steak & Seafood... more

We stayed 3 nights in late May. Weather was terrible but Kinsale is awesome. Tons of B and B's all over town. The Blindgate is awesome because it's about 3 minutes walk above town and looks out over the harbor. The place looks brand new and is spotless. We loved walking back home at night to the quiet neighborhood where... more

A group of four of us stayed in Kinsale near the end of our week-long tour of Ireland. We had previously stayed at The Westin in Dublin and also at the Fairgreen Hotel in Galway City. The Blindgate House was our favorite of the trip and was very charming and comfortable. Kinsale is a great place to visit and it... more

Stayed here in Oct. 2005. First of all, Kinsale is a wonderful little town, and this inn, situated a short walk from the city center, is very nicely done and had all the comforts of home. Would stay here again and highly recommend it. more

Stayed here in May, 2003. There were six of us, three couples, traveling together, and this our favorite place we stayed in Ireland. Kinsale is the most picturesque, charming town, worth a day or two. The Blindgate House is located just on the outskirts of this tiny town up on a hill. It's an easy walk down into town. We... more
