After two wonderful days in Kinsale, we would definitely recommend the Blindgate House. While you can find less expensive places, we found the staff to be great, the breakfast amazing, clean, comfortable rooms and a very short walk to town. Spending one week in Ireland, we knew we wanted to stay in Kinsale for two nights. With this, we spent... more

Maeve couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. We arrived tired, and some in our party, sick, and she took good care of us. The house is extremely quiet and very comfortable. It is the only B&B we stayed in that had fluffy down pillows, instead of hard-as-a-rock boulders when we layed our heads to rest. The rooms are large... more

Blindgate house was a wonderful place to stay, no more than 2 minutes walk to the town and placed on a quiet street. We stayed here 3 nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect, from our friendly and helpful host, to the spacious and clean, bright room we had. I am returning in October and will most... more

We realy loved this place. The owner, Maeve, was very helpful and went out of her way to make us comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean, and the breakfast was very good. My only complaint was the location, and even that was not bad. But, don't be fooled by Frommers - this property is not really in the... more

This very personable, very contemporary B&B was wonderful. My husband and I just returned from Ireland and the Blindgate house was by far one of the nicest places we stayed at. It is a short 6 minute walk into the center of Kinsale. If you want views of the ocean stay downtown, but be warned you will be dealing with... more

Kinsale and surrounding area are lovely, but for the price, I expected more. The desk attendants were difficult to find (on arrival repeated rings at the doorbell before answered, and the next day phone calls to the front desk were unanswered for a couple hours). The room was showing wear and tear (furniture damaged, bathroom edges grimey), and the view... more

My husband and I just finished a week driving through Ireland and really enjoyed Kinsale and the Blindgate House. This property has large comfortable rooms and bathrooms, a very pretty common area for guests to congregate, and ample parking. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. The staff was friendly and accomodating. This is a good base for visiting this... more

We stayed one night in this B&B and had a very good experience. The common areas were furnished in a contemporary decor, clean, airy and serene. The bedroom was of a decent size for 3 of us and the bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast was really good and filling with a choice of hot dishes made to order. Our... more

Stayed two nights in this fantastic guesthouse. The landlady Maeve was one of the friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered. We arrived late in the afternoon and had no reservations in town for dinner. Maeve pulled a half dozen menus from under the reception desk and asked us what type of cuisine we were looking for. Steak & Seafood... more
