I can't believe it took me so long to discover this place! I have eaten in many restaurants in Kinsale down through the years and went here on the recommendation of a friend recently. My boyfriend is a meat and two veg kind of guy and this is exactly what we got here. Simple, honest, good food, no frills. Basic... More

Went on a Sunday night and got a table straight away. My husband and I shared the Brie and crab cakes as our appetizers and were not disappointed. Delicious, fresh! I had the sirloin and he had the hake. We both felt that they were okay, but did not live up to the hype that Yelp and tripadvisor created. Reasonably... More

We stayed here recently for one night in a double room (had a double and a single bed). On arrival we were a bit confused as there was no reception so we walked in the door that said 'guests' and quickly realised this led directly to the bedrooms. Oops! We then popped our head in the restaurant but there seemed... More

we ordered the scampi for dinner, at € 26 per person you'd expect it to be good and it was. The disappointing part of the meal was the salad and potatoes. The scampi came out piping hot, we sat and waited and waited eventually a miserable few mixed leaves arrived To share!! Again we waited ( our scampi at this... More

Stayed the last two years in Jim Edwards on the May bank holiday from Friday to Monday, this year was very disappointing, the was no hot water all weekend in our room, I specifically asked for a manager behind the bar who advised he thought the issue had been fixed and he had been speaking to a plumber, I did... A very clean and hotel-like accommodation with en-suite rooms, in- room coffee/tea, and a very convenient location. Pub was nice and food looked good. Not the best spot for traveling with children - while the pub itself shut down around 11, the one right across the small square kept rolling and the revelers gave us a few great serenades, making... Not too bad as we were very central and could just walk everywhere. Hard to find parking near hotel, rooms are small but fine as we only were there to sleep. Very noisy so glad it was only for one night though it was a sat night so might not be that noisy during the week. Kinsale itself was lovely... More

This month we spent 3 nights at Jim Edwards Hotel right in the heart of Kinsale. Our room was comfortable with all our needs catered for. The staff were accommodating and friendly especially the wonderful lady at breakfast . The food at the restaurant was delicious too. Thank you to all at Jim Edwards.

thought we would try the pub food. The fish and chips were fine, nothing special. The fried place (in breadcrumbs) were the same. Service was friendly and quite good. This was more like a restaurant than my expectations of a "pub".

We went to kinsale for the day as we were staying in skibeeree . Loved kin sale however disabled access was not as it should be. We had lunch at Jim Edwards. The meal I would give a 6 out of 10. As we quickly learned while staying in this part of the world that they do not tend to... More
