We had an extremely gracious and friendly Irish host. Breakfast was made to order (I had an omelet). We had a beautiful room with a jet tub and modern, spacious bathroom. It was nicely decorated with antique style furniture. Shops and restaurants were within a block of the B&B. more

We stayed for three nights and it was the nicest experience we had during our 15 nights we spent throughout Ireland. The room is big with a sitting area and a huge bathroom with jetted tub and plenty of heat and hot water from the solar panels. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious with anything you could think of on the... more

The Desmond House was a dream. Perfect location, within a very short, scenic walk from everything in beautiful Kinsale. Accommodations exceeded expectations. The host/hostess were informative, while giving the visitors space and privacy and LOADS of information. A perfect combination. Kinsale was one of our favorite stops in Ireland. Fishy-fishy and Crackpots were some of the best dining experiences in... more

We only stayed here for one night but Desmond House made such an impression on us that we felt totally relaxed when we came home! As soon as we arrived Anne was giving us tips on where to go for lunch - we ate at the Fishy Fishy café which was amazing. The room was lovely and big, the bed... more

I try to get to Ireland at least once (or more!) a year -- and Kinsale is frequently on the itinerary. After staying at several other places in town, I've recently discovered 'Desmond House.' More gracious hosts -- Michael and Anne -- you cannot find. What's more, everything else about the place (e.g., the rooms, the beds, the breakfast) is... more

We stayed at Desmond House for 2 nights last weekend. I had done a little research on the B&B's in the Kinsale area and chose this one due to the positive reviews. I would highly recommend Desmond House to anyone choosing to stay in Kinsale. Our room was very large in size and had a wonderful bathroom equipped with both... more

I can't rate the Desmond House highly enough. Our two night stay was the highlight of our week-long trip in Ireland. Hosts Michael and Ann were endearing, entertaining, and felt like family. Other reviewers have already raved about the rooms, the views, the comfort, the bathrooms, cleanliness and outstanding breakfasts, so I'll leave you with two tips: - Try the... more

The Desmond House is more than a "house" - it feels like a home away from home. It served as our home base while in beautiful Kinsale, and it was our welcoming and cozy home thanks to our informative and very accommodating hosts Michael and Ann. Our room was very large with all the comforts of home. In the morning,... more

Nearly a year ago I booked the 2 first floor bedrooms for a 5 night stay for my party of 2 couples. I selected Desmond House purely because of the favourable reviews on TripAdvisor. It was everything I expected and all my compliments have been recorded in previous reviews. Michael and Ann are charming hosts who are anxious to please... more
