Took our group of five at lunchtime - the menu looked perfect, the interior decor stunning and the service excellent. What arrived to the table was jaw dropping, for the wrong reasons. It looked photographic - but style over substance. First - don't arrive hungry, you may leave hungry. My 'fish' pie was a rather sloppy mush of high cholesterol... More

We spent two nights in Blue Haven Hotel in the attractive coastal area of Kinsale in West Cork. Promotional material had led us to expect excellent fresh-seafood cuisine, and a fine boutique hotel experience. Far from it! The hotel suffers on the ground floor from being hoofed by too many trippers, although the walls have been repainted a pleasant blue... More

Stayed for one night, when attending a wedding in Kinsale. It was a lovely room, quiet & they gave me extra towels, as requested. Room was quite small & bed was jammed against the window, so I couldn't close the curtains, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, don't have Spanish pancakes for breakfast- very dry & horrible. There were lots... More

Hotel has great service and location (if you are ok with a busy, active street during the night). I would guess this could be a noisy location in the summer as their is a busy pub very close by ( you can see it from the hotel if you are street-side) and there is no air-conditioning, so open windows would... Myself and my husband booked a meal here for our anniversary. We found the staff to be very friendly, efficient and knowledgable. The food was absolutely amazing.!! We had crab claws and scallops to start and for the main courses we had John Dory and Niçoise salad. We can't wait to go back again to try out the rest of... More

Lovely bar with excellent entertainment . Stunning word class restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are well equipped but a little dated . Best hotel we have stayed in in kinsale . You are right in the middle of town . Parking can be an issue . Recommended

Service was very slow and group booking menus were not great! Soup was cold and inedible, steak cooked wrong and waiters were no help, didn't offer to go back to the kitchen to get a new one. Desserts were forgotten about, had to ask 2 times for deserts, even after the deserts arrived one was still forgotten about! when the... More
